“visited today with a lad i'm a carer for who's got autism & non-verbal - explained i just wanted a cheap book because he won't read it anyway - charged me £4.99 for a book about buses that when new was only £1.20 - i could-nt say no as it would-ve upset the lad i care for - so called 'Charity' - Absolutely disgusted.”

“A good collection of clothes, accessories and other items. Prices are bit higher sometimes. Love the staff here, their customer service is amazing and they are very friendly.”

“Recently went in and they were selling some novelty pens which were ideal for my classroom prize box. I told the lady at the counter, this is what I was buying them for. Without me asking, she spent a fair bit of time going through all the pens to find any more discounted ones that I could purchase for my class. Extremely helpful! Wonderful staff. A very happy class!”

“I bought my wedding dress from here. They had a huge stock of modern dresses some of which were donated from designer shops unworn. The second hand ones were all in fantastic condition. They did also have some retro dresses. They had all kinds of accessories and shoes to try on with them and the volunteer helping us was fantastic and extremely knowledgeable about all the dresses. There was a little aisle to wander down and me and my friends had a little dance to make sure the dresses were comfortable. I had better time here than at the designer shop I went to. I think I tried on 8 dresses but I had huge rail to look through. They also let me reserve the dress for 28 days after while I thought about it. Overall 10/10 and I've recommended it to other friends getting married.”

“Good store with great selection of cards and books, with self-checkout tills which I prefer, but it's like a ghost town. Can't imagine it'll last very long in today's retail climate.”

“Great selection of books, including graphic novels, and all genres such as fiction, but the shop contains more non fiction which is what I like. The shop is not that big and I feel it should have been bigger, for the sheer number of customers that goes in. Overall a great used bookshop and great value too.”

“Buen lugar donde comprar algo para comer en el tren, pero hay que fijarse bien en que productos entran dentro de la promoción del meal deal, ya que no queda muy claro.”

“Central York. An interesting lunch menu of hot dishes, open sandwiches or paninis with various toppings / fillings. Each has side salad and then a choice of three from six interesting other salads. Middle Eastern or North African flavours. The cafe is looking rather tired but the staff are lovely and we really enjoyed our lunch.”
