Harry and Freya H looked after us. Exemplary. Warmth, attention to detail. A lovely gesture for our anniversary including Prosecco upon arrival and a cheeky anniversary dessert on the house. Love this place, food, service, perfection.

Fantastic meal in a beautiful setting.
All our meals were really tasty. I had the rump steak included on the set menu, the jus was the best I've had.
Definitely recommend.

First visit to York in a while and came to this place after searching for some dog friendly places to eat. Didn?t have a booking and turned up just before 7 and was told they can try and keep me a table if I came back in 20-30 minutes. Being on crutches and with a dog that wasn?t a problem as there are some nice benches outside to sit on, the staff then even came outside after a little while to say they had a table for me.
The staff are all very attentive and friendly, the food was excellent! Highly recommend the pork belly (which Dennis ,the dog, was very jealous of)
It was a nice atmosphere and they not only looked after me well but even brought Dennis not one but two bowls of beef! What a day to be a dog!
Anyway, although not it York often, next time I?m around I (and Dennis will definitely be back)

Second time we have been here on our second visit to York. Excellent food and service you will not be disappointed. Just beware, if you want a bottle of water for the table they do charge , we had no warning of this beforehand.

Beautiful food and lovely atmosphere. There was a delay with the food but to be honest, the service from the staff (especially Chantelle!) and the delicious food when it arrived, more than made up for it.
We even got a drink of our choice o. The house as an apology!
We will definitely be back x

The food here is decent but we weren't wowed by it. That said, delicious soup! My son ate well from the kids menu.
The thing this place gets so right is the service. Chantelle/Chantal looked after my family and was delightful! All the staff there were fantastic!

The entrance, tunnel with fairy lights, was what compelled me to eat here with my family. We got seated quickly and the service was fast. We ordered off the set menu. The starters came eight minutes after ordering and our main courses came eight minutes after our starter. The mushroom arancini starter was delicious but the main courses was when it became questionable. The only good dish was the pan roasted beef. The pesto lacked any taste of basil and was far too creamy and the sea bass was unremarkable. The sides did not pair well. This meal was not worth the price.

Nice and enjoyable. A big tight so it's not too comfortable to get to your table.

This restaurant was recommended to us and I couldn't fault it in any way. It was our wedding anniversary and we were given a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival. The staff were very attentive, in particular Harrison who gave an excellent level of service, explaining items on the menu and leaving an appropriate amount of time between courses and clearing plates away.
We chose sirloin steak for our main meal and it was cooked to
perfection. All 3 courses were beautifully presented and tasted delicious.

Such a lovely spot in York. Food was delicious and the staff were amazing, Harrison made sure we had everything we needed was a lovely waiter.

We ate here recently and I could not fault the service. The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. The restaurant its self looks lovely. The atmosphere was nice, although they did seem to sit everyone in the same section rather than spreading people out? the rest of the restaurant was empty. I?m not sure if there was any logic behind this? maybe to keep it easy for themselves I don?t no? it might have been nice to have spread people out abit which would have allowed a more relaxing experience. It did become abit loud.
Food was nice, but I can?t say i will be rushing back to be honest. I got a burger which stated on the menu it came with coleslaw, thick cut chunky chips and burger sauce in the burger but it didn?t come with either. I got fries instead of chunky chips. The tip is added to the bill for you? again I believe people should tip what they want - not what they are told to tip?
I?ve eaten in better places in York being completely honest. ?
