Don't be dissuaded by certain negative reviews - they were either written during a Y8 ICT lesson due to boredom after completing their python code, or from an out-dated and/or one-off claim or event. After finishing my 7th year here, I firmly believe that All Saints is a wonderful place to not only receive a stellar education, but to learn and develop values such as stewardship, compassion and a deep sense of community.

As a past pupil of the school Unfortunately my experience was not that goodUnless your academic or good at SportThey don't seem to know what to do with you and there ethos of respect and kindness is frankly a joke.I personally experienced bullying both verbal and physically at the school one attack I suffered during a leavers mass for year 11 resulted in a collapsed lung due to being punched very hard in the shoulder from behind.Again nothing donestrange isn't it?Needless to say I was seriously let down .There was a bizarre culture of letting people especially members of the school football /rugby team get what I can only describe as ( special treatment) almost blatant passThey also let ( form captin) who is usually a fellow pupil with no training in teaching choose what other members of the form will be doing on sports day? of which was used to no end in torment even when it was clear some activities were way beyond the individuals capacityIn the balance of fairness there were some great teachers who did try to help( eventake time out of there lunch to explain homework ect) of which is going beyond and I don't forget kindness like that, however the general culture of one size fits all made it a very difficult 5 yearsSchool trips away are also a issue especially one which requires 1to 2 week away.Although the activities were well run and the health and safety was second to none there were frequent issues with ( ganging up ) on weaker members of the form especially when in our dorms which nearly always resulted in bullying, for example people's luggage and property being ransacked, punched when asleep ect of which never seem to get delt with even when reported. In class I witnessed a pupil walk over and shout in someone's face who was sat in lesson and the teacher did nothing. Why? Your guess is as good as mine!As mentioned before there seemed to be a reluctant attitude to deal with things like this which happened time and time again although the reason is not quite clear. There is one thing that I would like to mention that I thought was a little bit strange a good friend of mine when attending an A-level open day was told not to bother andJust go to the army careers CentreWhich seem odd to say the least. I know he was bewildered by the comment and as a result did not further his education.Generally I think it would of been easier going to a open prison.I would seriously consider looking at other schools before attending All Saints

people only write these reviews if they have had something bad happen, which is a rarity. I have gone to this school for 6 years and it has been amazing, the community is brilliant. Go to an open day and check it out!

Honestly one of the best schools in york. This is for getting your child bullied. My son unfortunately got bullied by a Very big, strong and tall child called Jack puloyn ,who took advantage of his abnormally big stature to be mean to my son.

Unfortunately I have to agree with posts stating its not what it use to be. Since the senior leadership team has changed, through staff leaving, the way the upper school has been ran, in particular the dreadful sixth form is disappointing. The school seem to make bizarre unnecessary changes when more obvious important ones don't happen. I think blocking off the stage and making it a storage area has actually lost a great asset and just created a large bin. On my visits the children's behaviour was appalling. Swearing and sitting on the floor eating chips. What was most shocking was the member of staff i was visiting stepped over them and expected me to do the same! No authority. The education in years 10 and 11 was exceptional. The preparation for GCSEs I can't fault. Teachers kept in touch with me via email and my child attended multiple revision lessons. I do want to mention a very strange decision taken to put a key lock on a side gate. Behind this gate is two further high metal gates that are locked out of school hours. On leaving late the key lock gate shut behind us and we found the metal gates were also locked. We were trapped between two sets of gates! Why? Why does that gate need a key pad? I find it a waste of money. I dont agree with the school being completly cashless, especially when a teacher then sets homework on money! And the child can run up arrears which are not capped. Their parent would then be responsible for setteling the account. Nothing like encouraging debt. No car park at the lower site is also a nightmare and again a waste of money putting in a barrier. Hope emergency services don't ever need access. I'm hoping the new head will stop these out of touch " business" changes and focus on what actually would benefit the school. One last moan.. all PTA, parent forum meetings are on an evening because we all are at home after 1700 apparently!! The acting head is a complete embarrassment to the school. Very immature and doesn't stamp on bullying, just laughs it off.

Terrible. Calum Davis bullied my child and his friends joined in and now my son now has a fractured arm.

Reading the posts on here are a little disappointing when looking to choose a school for your child-reports that the headmaster is very good -although pupils behavior in lower levels is disappointing ? How is this managed in the school
