Excellent service , food and ales ?.
Not local to this area but wish I could take this pub and it's friendly staff back home with me .
Very enjoyable meeting the locals who love a chat .

A beautiful traditional village pub, great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
The food is top class homemade,wholesome and delicious. A hidden gem in a little Yorkshire village. Highly recommend

Had a Sunday lunch which was absolutely wonderful. One of the best I have had in my 66 years. Best roast potatoes ever. Can't fault the food or service. Not a scrap of food left.

What a lovely country pub. Very cosy and welcoming. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff and a lovely glass of Pinot. I'll be back to sample the Christmas fare ! x

Was there on a Thursday night with the local Morris Dancers.
The beer selection was excellent. One from Theakstons the other from Roosters Brewery.
Need an excuse to go back soon

My wife and I have just had a fantastic Sunday lunch. Top quality, top value. Hadn't booked but they managed to squeeze the two of us in. Tempted to try dessert menu but just couldn't manage it. Absolutely stuffed. We've paid a lot more for a sunday lunch thats been no where near as good, will be back.

Only recently started doing food again, but I'm glad they have! I had chorizo hash (spicy) and fillet steak, both excellent. All 9 members of our party enjoyed their meals. Nice hand pulled guest ale, super friendly staff and locals.

Came for sunday lunch, havnt been for a while. The best sunday dinner, so tasty, the gravy is to die for gorgeous veg including lovely cauliflower cheese. Followed by the best meringue i have ever tasted, staff lovely just brilliant

We've just visited this pub as we ate trying to support all our local pubs and we were not disappointed. We had an excellent 3 course Sunday lunch with exceptional friendly service. The food was served v quickly after ordering on our arrival and it was all freshly prepared home made food - crab ravioli and haggis and neeps as starter and both had roast pork which came with scrummy crackling lovely perfectly cooked fresh veg all delicious esp the cabbage and cauliflower cheese and roasties and boiled potatoes. Desserts were to die for melt in the mouth chocolate goey brownie and sticky toffee pudding- great quality and service-thank you to all the friendly chatty staff who made us feel very welcome in this lovely homely local pub - 10/10
