I took a chance ordering online from this store and unfortunately it was the wrong decision. Although the product choice and prices were fantastic, the item I received was completely different to that described and also had brown staining on it. Definitely more care and attention needed while fulfilling online orders, unfortunately won't be ordering from here in the future and based on my experience would not recommend to others.

Tried to buy a cap in this shop today. Asked a male assistant if I cud stand with my 2 clean, dry, coiffed poodles in the doorway so I could advise husband. All good till miserable lady assistant arrived asking if the dogs were dry (not rained for ages) & said the shop was shutting! We explained that we were about to buy a £40 hat & similar scarf but her attitude persisted & we left, disappointed & surprised. Not sure who owns this shop but they need a rethink here.

Cracking little shop with some top clobber.I bought a Barbour waxed jacket from here and the staff were friendly, weren't pushy at all and let me take my time picking out my jacket.Will definitely come here again if I want some more decent clothing!

Visited Whitby over Christmas and intended to buy some gents clothes, as soon as we went into the shop we didn't get a hello just a small middled aged woman in a red jumper and black hair stare at my primary school aged children and continued staring as we walked around the shop, I watched her and her tall male colleague and I was seriously close to argue with them! What the hell is this snobbery about???? This is why Whitby has gone down hill! I can believe what the other reviews state now! Keep away!

Called in at Spiders on a resent visit to Whitby.The clothing range is excellent. Very helpful and sociable staff. Bought shoes and shirts with no dramas and smiles all round. Exactly how i like to do my clothes shopping.

The staff are appallingly rude totally ignoring customers. The only interaction was to look disgusted when approached for help. I couldn't believe the language used when gossiping together. One ' lady' described smashing someone's face in and calling them a slag. The F word was used several times. Not an upmarket shopping experience provided by 2 very unprofessional shop women.

When visiting Whitby for the day we usually call into this shop.Unfortunately I will not be doing so ever again. I spotted a nice hat and picked it up to try it on. Within ear shot I heard one of the sales assistants say to the other in a very patronising way " do you know what I liked about the other lady that bought a hat, she actually asked for permission to try it on". Well excuse me !!!!!The most terrible customer service skills I have ever received.I told my husband and son who by the way has purchased a few items from this shop in the past, to leave immediately.We left the premises and will not set foot in it again.I think this lady whoever she is owner or employee needs to brush up on her customer service skills, disgusting treatment of a potential sale.

I had seen some Barbour boots and a lovely hat in the window of this shop, I entered the shop and picked up the hat at the edge of the window display, next to the door to try it on, at which point one of the sales assistants (brown hair, glasses and attitude!) came over and told me, very aggressively, ?don?t touch the items in the window, there are others in the shop?. She then left me, without offering any assistance to find the other hats, to go back to the gossiping with her colleagues.I could not find any other hats like this in the shop so instead saw the boots I wanted to try on. I found a pair in my size without any help being offered from the 3 assistants, who were not busy with other customers and still gossiping by the till. I began to get them out of the box and again the same woman came over, with the same agressive attitude and told me not to touch any items in the shop. I understand that staff want to limit contact under the current COVID restrictions, however I had sanitised my hands on entering and did not see any signs telling customers not to touch items in the shop. A different assistant, clearly embarrassed by her colleagues actions came over and helped me try on the boots. They were a lovely fit and I would have bought them had the customer service been much better.My Dad also saw a pair of boots which he would have bought but we felt so uncomfortable with how we had been spoken to, we walked out and have ordered them from elsewhere. I really wanted to help support this local independent retailer, however the sales assistant made the experience so unpleasant that we walked out without purchasing anything, meaning a loss of about £300 sale for them.As a previous reviewer has said, don?t spend your money here!
