“Called in for a new mattress, great selection and surprised by the prices too. Delightful, cheerful and extremelyhelpful staff member made me realise why it's so much better to shop local. Needless to say we ordered an amazing new mattress at a fantastic price.”

“In the last year since moving to the area we’ve had exellent service from this branch of Howdens whilst completing small projects on our home. The highlight of this branch is Steve who, beyond being a pleasure to deal with, is diligent, has great attention to detail, and whose input it always valued.”

“What can I say ! They always say if you want to be a great photographer shoot local and spend as much time with a camera in your hand as you can. Glenn has photographing his home town as an Art form. His images of Whitby day and night and through every season capture the real Whitby and are available in just about every form around Whitby and online. Glenn’s work is fantastic.”

“We were on holiday in Whitby and had tyre pressure issues. The reception staff and the mechanic were so kind and checked out the issue straightaway and gave us great help and reassurance. Highly recommended.”

“Very fruitful! This is a big shop overlooking the harbour and 2 minutes walk from the railway and bus stations. If you have patience and time to browse there are hidden treasures just waiting to be discovered. From household items, small furniture, vintage clothing, designer to High Street, good condition donated goods go out on the rails every day so the earlier you get there the better. If you like putting together clothes for your own unique look then this is Whitby's gem of charity shops. And they have a great book section too, and music - CD's, audio books, vinyl - you can take a seat and get lost in a book (or two) - all sorted into genre and author. There's definitely a book for everyone here. There's two changing rooms and volunteers are helpful and friendly and I'm guessing some of like vintage style too! There's a sandwich shop next door so when you finish shopping you can pick up a delicious lunch and coffee and eat it sitting on one of the harbour benches - check out that stunning view of the Abbey across the river. What more could a charity shop offer!”
