We are local to the area, however, this is the first time that I have visited the Stapylton. Being an avid self elected Sunday lunch critique the lunch I was presented with was superior and one of the best within a 20mile radius.
Brilliant attentive staff, superb quality good.

We stayed here for the night and had dinner/breakfast.
The food is very good, homemade and quality ingredients.
Service is friendly and efficient. Our room was comfortable and recently refurbished to a high standard.

At a last minute decision today decided to ring up for a table , they were most accommodating, me and my partner sat down to a lovely 3 course Sunday lunch for £34 per person , the food was to die and lived the experience , with fantastic service , , just as we were leaving a hour after service had fineshed , a couple walked in realising they were too late , but the chefs said they would happily accommodate them for some food , how lovely , will definitely be back soon

Very quiet lunchtime. We received superb attention and service from the slim gentleman I?ve seen serve on each visit. He was considerate and smiling and the food served was very tasty and well presented. Bar and restaurant areas were clean, impeccably well laid out and tidy. All members of our party were very pleased with our lunch. Thank you.

Lovely quiet village not far from Thirsk and the A1(M). A friendly welcome and a clean comfortable room. We booked for dinner and the food was delicious and service equally friendly. A 10 minute walk after dinner to the abbey ruins down the road was a nice surprise. Great bed and tasty breakfast. All in all an enjoyable place to stop over on the way up to the Lake District.

Good English fare. Old but nice building but not well-ventilated enough to bring a lily plant indoors.

We had Sunday lunch. It was delicious and served with a smile and friendly staff. From the table cloths to the very congenial surroundings a real treat. Would highly recommend a visit.

Despite our friend mistakenly booking the day before, the staff were incredibly helpful in arranging a table for the four us. The food was excellent! Sunday roasts with all the trimmings and lovely puds - very tasty and good portions. At £28 for two courses it was great value and we would highly recommend you give this pub a try. One of the very best Sunday lunches we have had.

Had Sunday Lunch (including starters) and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a mix of starters and all were a delight. The lamb was so tender and tasty. Huge portion sizes too! Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. One of our party was GF and this wasn?t a problem for the kitchen staff & slight changes made to the dishes to easily accommodate. We sat outside and were the only ones in the heat, but there was a cool breeze, huge umbrella & nice patio area. Will definitely return & highly recommend!!!

Sadly we dined here today after having been numerous times in the past. Had scampi as before but at £21.95 felt it was a very poor presentation. Staff pleasant but pre-occupied so had to wait for menus etc. not sure if it?s changed ownership but certainly not as good as we remember it ?

2nd visit, this time for Sunday lunch.
Warm welcome on arrival. Shown promptly to our table.
Dining room wasn't overly busy, but we did arrive late into Sunday lunch service.
Food & drinks order taken in due course .
Nice choice on menu. Finally opted for Roast Pork Loin & I had the Pulled Shoulder of Lamb.
Meals arrived a short time later. Nicely presented, huge Yorkshire Pudding. Accompanying veg arrived to supplement our meat.
All in all a very nice Sunday lunch.
Definitely worth a visir.
5 stars to all the team at The Stapylton Arms.
We will be returning.
1st visit.
Just had a lovely Saturday lunch at The Stapylton Arms in Wass. Booked to avoid disappointment.
Lovely setting, lovely ambience, great food. Good portion size.
Very nice staff, very polite, courteous and helpful, but not overbearing.
Well worth a visit. I appreciate The Abbey Inn is just round the corner, but The Stayplton Arms holds it's own. Plenty of room for both of them.
Enjoyed it so much, returning for Sunday Lunch.
Thanks to all the team.

We visited for Sunday lunch with two friends and this was our first visit since the change of ownership. The staff were friendly and pleasant but we found the menu choices limited and expensive. Previously we have found the opposite with a much better variety of dishes offered and at a more reasonable price. We were surprised also to be only offered cafetière coffee.

Had sunday lunch here today. What a superb little find. Staff were so friendly and the food was lovely. Alot of yorkshire puddings can be hard and crispy in pubs, but todays were a delight quite perfect. Thank you
