Stayed here years ago. (2008)
Night 2 of the Dales Way after the night before wild camping near Grassington.
They opened the rooms special for us as they had decided to have a day off letting rooms as no clients that day.
Very much appreciated and we had a lovely meal and pint that night.
Happy memories as I drove past today on the way to the summit of Cam Rakes

Absolute gem of a Pub, the food was brilliant, the pie... we all agreed was one of the best we'd had! staff are very welcoming and the pub itself is lovely and cosy, if I lived closer you wouldn't get me away much. A must if your in the area!

A gorgeous Dales pub full of heart. New landlords Greg and Claire make you feel instantly at home ? warm, welcoming, and full of charm. Great food, perfect pints, and the kind of place you?ll want to return to again and again.

Lovely traditional country pub in Hubberholme, Yorkshire. Situated at the side of the River Walf. Very old with lots of original beams, fireplace and furniture. Plenty of seating outside under parasols. Good traditional homebaked food, I particularly enjoyed the Thai Green Curry which was quiet spicey. My partner had the homily pie with mash and vegetables.
Ed who served us was very friendly and efficient and called us by our names throughout. We'll definitely be calling again. Make sure you book as it gets very busy.

Had a great family meal here yesterday. We had a duty to perform in respect of my late Dad, this included his instruction that we raise a glass to him in the George. When I called to book, Ed asked for the first names of the party, which is unusual but all became clear when we arrived. Got to say Ed is a first class character, he made the lunch that little bit more special. He's also some salesman! He used our names when handing over our drinks and meals, he made it feel more personal and friendly.
The Pub is a typical & Characterful stone built dales pub with stone flag floors and bench seating. The food was great, the range of award winning pies! Beef & Blue, Homity, Lamb & mint, Chicken & Leek, Chicken & Ham, Beef & Ale .. there are at least 8 types of brilliant pies, and I mean Pies! Not stew in a tin with a flaky topping, proper shortcrust pies. Excellent stuff by the chef. The other items on the menu also looked very tempting too.
Good range of beers on tap including Wensleydale breweries Black Dub (lovely mellow dark beer) Wensleydale Gold & Semer water (pale), wished I could have had a pint of them all. Ed did his best to convince me!
If you're eating you'll most likely get to meet George too, lovely little fella.
Good call Dad, glad you sent us here! Thanks to all the staff for a great day.

Absolutely brilliant place. We came here with some friends and family for Sunday lunch. We had booked in advance, which I would say is essential. We received a beautiful warm welcome, each of us greeted by first name, which was such a lovely touch. The food was exquisite and the atmosphere was so lovely. It is an ideal place to stop whilst walking in the beautiful countryside and the place is truly charming. As a group, we tried the 3 different roasts, including the vegetarian option, and we were delighted.

Rather rude landlord...told me not to put my bike under cover...it was raining and there was a very large outside tent structure ...but he said 'put it in the rain' ...so U left

I called in for a pint whilst walking the Dalesway. Lovely old pub. The Black Sheep Dark Dub was superb. It also has accommodation so adds an additional option for walking the trail.

Couldn?t have had a warmer welcome or a heartier lunch. What a lovely landlord who made me feel so welcome and very valued as a customer. Attentive service and delicious freshly prepared food. Lovely roaring fire and adorable pub dog George was very friendly.

Charming old world pub and charming staff to go with it. Ed is quite a character and gave a lovely welcome to us weary walkers. Kate's cooking is great (shame we missed the award winning pies!). Such a peaceful location in a beautiful spot, ideal for sinking the excellent beer on offer!
