Came to Skipton today with my partner and after a lovely walk round skipton we decided to call into the red lion for a spot of lunch. We ordered 2 colas which were extortionately priced at £4.05 per pint. My legs went funny and thought id need to remortgage the house. We then sat at a table and decided on food. I went for the fish and chips and my partner gammon after a short while we received our food my partner had asked for a solid yolk but got a runny egg and both the peas on our dishes were like bullets I think they used wonky peas from morrisons the fish was a little watery but despite these minor issues we still enjoyed our food and had a pleasant time. The staff were very friendly and attentive which made our dining experience that much better.

Good selection of food however the drinks where all flat, all the on draft cider was warm, the bar staff where very unhygienic, dropping tongs and straws on the floor and still used them to make drinks. Finally when our drinks order came the member of staff came to the table slammed the tray down spilling drinks all over me and walked away without saying anything or taking the drinks off the tray.

A cozy, welcoming pub with friendly staff and a lovely vibe. Food is what you would expect from a Greene King establishment, but it's good, tasty and not overpriced.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the banter at the bar. Thank you!

Really bad experience here unfortunately. Firstly, neither of the drinks we wanted could be made due to a lack of soda water, then one the meals we wanted couldn't be supplied due to a lack of bacon & the other would be a 30 minute wait! Left shortly after. Avoid.

It was a busy day. Wanted a Sunday roast. We ordered the duo meats. Told 30 minutes to wait. The food came within 20 minutes. Lovely Yorkshire Sunday roast. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Clean and tidy. The toilets were clean and tidy. Definitely go back again.

Worst green king ever been to,food was shocking.Good job it's dog friendly because my dog left full of (sirloin steak)and only 3 staff working. Felt sorry for staff to be honest,very busy place and so understaffed!

Ordered food, and waited after about 40mins we asked where food was, waiter seemed very disinterested. Asked another member of staff who said 5mins, 10 mins later we asked for our money back. At that point our meals arrived, money returned and we were told we could eat the food, said no thanks and walked out.

Slow service !!! The young lad behind the bar had to check if food was being served ( 20.10) no steaks??.. we ordered burgers and few other meals. Unfortunately average!!!

Great place for a meal

I booked a table for 8pm, and arrived on time. However, I was told food was no longer being served and that they usually stopped serving around 7pm. I queried why they'd taken my booking if that was the case. The member of staff was rude and unhelpful, claiming there has been no booking when she'd checked an hour before. I showed her a screenshot, proving my booking had been made 3 hours earlier. She then claimed it was a different booking system! Clearly they wanted an easy night, but not very helpful after a 4.5 hour drive.
Incredibly unwelcoming. Would not recommend.

Would not recommend, made a booking when we arrived we were told they'd stopped serving food. First the staff made out we had lied about the booking and they closed food, when we showed them our booking we were told they had shut to food.
Very rude member of staff. Won't be wasting our time again or recommending.
