Foods ok but every time I visit one of the food items is stone cold. Tonight it was the chips.
Parking: Heating was broken and electric fan heaters were as useless. Didn?t have hot water to wash hands in the toilets. This may have been fixed now

For some reason everyone was queued at the bar, stretching right back into the pub. Staff were encouraging it by shouting down "whos next", then the person next to me ordered food and the bar staff, unprompted, explained every ingredient in the dish and it took ages lol. This method of ordering made it quite slow and the pub was pretty empty

Wetherspoons? If you have been in one, then there's a good chance the next one that you go into will be pretty similar and The Devonshire is no exception. A very large old converted property full of rooms of all sizes and always busy!
What Wetherspoons achieve across the country is the ability to provide beers and food at exceptionally reasonable prices and quality! ?
It's a shame there aren't a lot more companies in the industry that don't follow Wetherspoons marketing philosophy in the current climate.

Plates are usually hot in here. You know what you are getting in Spoons. Usually a decent guest beer or three. Friendly staff.

Food lovely, but not everything was available on the menu, yet it was a Saturday afternoon!
Pub gets noisy as it gets full.
Lots of little rooms to sit in.

Food was as you expect from weather spoons great for what you pay. The service was great with staff helping me get a highchair and condiments as I was alone with my baby. Just let doen by cleanliness. The carpets are absolutely filthy no large chunks or crumbs but full of dusty fine stuff (you notice these things when you have a little one who is learning to walk). And the table was super sticky even after being wiped down before I sat. X
Kid-friendliness: They have plenty of high chairs. Good child's menu with drink options. Not very clean flooring for young children who may be crawling or falling often.
