My time here was a living hell, since I was a young child I ve had serious speech and language issues, and learning difficulties, I was diagnosed with Autism aswell and what support did I receive?, none!, in class often I recall been shouted at like someone had died just because I didn't understand what the teacher was saying I was then often sent out for apparently disruptive behaviour and been cheeky and what not, most of the subject teachers would do this expecting me to understand and know the answer, they d mock me and try embarrass me just because I was so dam useless at the time, I requested the higher ups to let my teachers know of my issues this only worked for a few days then my teachers became really disrespectful again, i was afraid to ask for help in class because of the teachers reaction, i requested not to have an assistant teacher with me after been bullied for it, I was always given isolation, detentions, I was made to stand in front of the school when everyone was eating dinner or lining up for fire tests which got me so much more unwanted attention this happened because I was been punished for my so called bad behaviour, despite been a really really nice guy probably the nicest person someone will ever meet, If i didnt complete the massive amounts of challenging homework I received for someone of my capabilities I was made to miss my lunches and go hungry, these issues of mine got me bullied aswell other students would hit me all the time, they d always swear at me, some even tried to steal from me and when I reported all of this it blew over the teachers heads they didn't care if I was lucky they d have a word with the bully and even then it wasn't even lucky because they d make it so obvious that I had reported it so the bullying continued and got worse, eventually this was the last straw I told the staff I was gonna start hitting back they warned me about how i d get punished i didnt care and i started to have some fights i would have had lots more if i had more confidence at the time, but my confidence was dreadful, i started hitting back and I was given week long isolations and the other person who would hit me first would only get a couple of days max this was on repeat I d have a fights every few weeks and the outcomes always the same me getting punished lots worse than the bully, I started avoiding class and refusing to learn hiding in the toilets crying, I would have put my foot down more often if I had the confidence, Uniform was another issue you have to have the 100 percent correct shoes and a blazer with the logo on, my Father said he couldn't afford the correct clothing for all his kids so when I went to school with the wrong shoes or the wrong blazer I was yelled at the gates and refused entry aswell as other students, black shoes weren't even okay if they weren't the right make it was crazy and if you were allowed in after pleading with the staff you d be made to stay away from everyone all day, isolation seemed to be the answer for everything, detentions on the spot for tie not been straight or shirt not tucked in, despite living 20 miles away and sometimes been late I still got into trouble like it's my fault my parents made me late, 5 yrs of hell this was my school life ,I wouldn't recommend this school to people with special needs, after I left the school my brother and sister who dont even have special needs they faced similar problems they always came home unhappy and stressed and always ranted on about the same strict rules, many of the teachers were dreadful but Mr Sinclair stood out as the worst he s a problem for the school not the solution

Nothing but it was a joke. I have been bullied between inside of school and outside of school. How yr 11 cope with 100 yr 7 ,8 ,9 ,10. I thought Selby high was a good place in selby but it was bad place since I was yr 7 in 2013 I'll leave school in May or June 2018. I was hit by one of my friend then I gone panicked / stressed in yr 10. One of teacher want to tell me to remove this review if the public know or I will change the review. My dad told the social worker to sort it out since last year. I'm been blame by few of my best friends ( you dont know them) think I'm smell of hygiene but they wrong, if my best friends thinks i'm smell of hygiene one more time I'll gone mad. When I type the word of "gta 6" then its says block because they want the student stay off. 0 out of 100. I went to detention in yr 7 or 8 for not done homework. I'm strongly recommend you dont let your son or daughter apply this school because there are bullies around. You cant deserve this YR 11 student.

Don't get me wrong the teachers do their jobs really well so they are fine. but its the punishment system that needs to change. Putting people on a stage for everyone to look at is NOT okay. Bin duty WITHOUT GLOVES is also NOT okay. From what i have heard from other people i know , the people who found the "5p glitch" (as i have heard it called) are in isolation and the people who abused it and put £40 on using 5p's arent?
The isolation boxes are apparently tiny with no room to move at all.
2 star for having good teachers but pad ways of dealing with things

Ay! Don't even try to remove this post like you tried doing. Lucky for me when you edit posts they reappear. Magic, isn't it?
I go to this school. Some of you may know me from my short term Facebook page. anyway, this school is bad.
Uniform: There is no need to literally enforce a uniform tick list what punishes you even if you have no tie five times and a teacher sees you, or if your shirt isn't tucked in.
To be honest, it is NOT good school. The teachers that deal with bullying normally don't deal with it right. Someones they only get one side of the sob story and that's it. In this instance, you can frame anyone you want, and they'll get punished.
If you are late for school, even if you are ONE min late, you will be given a slip what tells you to go to a detention at lunch.
Public humiliation is no scarcely matter here. It is a big thing. And for teachers, it is a good thing. If you manage to have a detention at lunch, sometimes you will be asked to stand on the stage. In the hall where EVERYONE at lunch can stare at you. Have anxiety problems, this is the right school for you (It really is not) If you forget to put your rubbish in the bin at lunch, you will be asked to walk around the hall collecting rubbish while holding a massive baggy bag. Out of the many times I have seen this happen, only 40% out of 100% were wearing gloves. This is not only a health risk, but again, walking around a hall isn't how you want to spend your FREE TIME. The free time you get to be happy, what this school clearly isn't for. Selby High School, if you want me to remove this post, please change the way you have been acting in the recent past years, this was referencing to someone else post where they said "Selby high asked me to take this down". That quote isn't the exact one but you get the idea. Going to school should be a very good experience. But this school makes a very good example on the inside, rather then the out. Trust me when I say this; This is not a good school. If you want your child to be moody every time they come home from school, then be my guest and wipe their asses for them while they virtually torture your child. I know someone who's mum took their child out of this school because a teacher (Not telling names) lied to their parents face. And the parent saw their child walking out of the office.
