I work for a business called Blackwood Hall Ltd. We have used Howdens for years and never had any issues until now. We've received a small claims court order through the post without any warning which is really disappointing.
The telephone number on the claim form just keeps you on hold so is completely useless. When calling the local Selby branch they gave me the correct telephone number for their legal team.
When speaking to the legal team they were incredibly rude and difficult. Asked for details of the invoices in question as well as a statement of account so I can look into properly. Also asked that they add my direct mobile number and email to the account so that this situation could be avoided in future as there is no problem with making the payment - only that we haven't had the invoices in question. Why weren't the invoices posted to the office in the first instance? I was advised that computer says no as they can only have one telephone number linked to the account. I find it hard to accept that only one telephone number can be linked to the account nowadays and I was only asking for their own benefit to avoid any future payment issues.
It's a real shame as, like I say, we've used them for many years, but to take this kind of approach with a long standing customer without warning is completely unacceptable. We now have to pay court and legal fees on top of the amount outstanding (£568.10). I suggest a process change is required!

Do not use this branch.
They sell there products with a 5 warranty but when the kitchens discontinued they can?t do anything to help you.
Damaged kitchen doors after 4 years - one they claim is water damaged - this is a dishwasher door, the dishwasher of which was also provided by them - makes me wonder why they sell doors over there dishwashers if there not waterproof?
Got no further with management and we have to now open a legal case as it seems the only option would be for us to buy a full new kitchen - after 4 years.
Please be aware. They talk down to you and belittle you.
Initially they put in the wrong kitchen - they did however replace it with the correct one but that should of been a warning sign from that moment
Extremely disappointed the lack of customer care is a zero star rating
If you don?t want to purchase a brand new kitchen after only 4 years then you need to avoid at all costs or you will end up having to take legal action against miss sold products and information. There is no such thing as a warranty. Stay clear

We contacted our local Howden's branch in Selby, as we were looking for a new kitchen. Initial response time was fast, from point of enquiry, to sending out a representative, it was efficient and professional. During the visit to measure, we explained our requirements, provided examples and explained that we would have the funds available to secure an order by the end of October. Their representative noted that there was a sale on and that given our desire to move quickly, would ensure that we got into their showroom for a demo and to discuss the designs.Unfortunately, this is where all communication ran dry. Our neighbours also contacted Howdens Selby and told us that they are waiting for 5 months for them to get back to them with a design, so I'm guessing at nearly 1 month of still waiting for a reply, I shouldn't have any hopes of a response any time soon.Disappointing really. We tried to support local, being local to the branch, but with other companies quite happy to give us the attention we deserve and take our money, we're spoiled for options.
