There comes a time when you have to return faulty products to a supplier and that's when you discover how good their after sales customer service is ... today I had to return a handful of broken and melted drill bits I had purchased from the Scarborough branch yesterday. Unfortunately the drill bits were neither use nor ornaments when it came to drilling four 6mm holes in 6mm thick steel plate,they either broke or the ends physically melted and that even included using plenty of lubricant and a pillar drill on slow speed..I returned the drill bits and asked for comments when I opened my hand holding the remnants,in many establishments the comments would be unprintable but not from the very obliging female member of staff who simply asked would you like a refund. simple straight forward refreshing customer care attitude. She replaced the drill bits with other brands to the same value. I got the drill bits replaced and I hope the young lady is noticed by the area managers of toolstation as she is destined to be able to move up their company ladder given the opportunity

two years on from my original review I feel an upto date edit is due and a revised star rating that is more relevant to the current state of available stock
Recently I've been surprised at how many items are only stocked in single
or double units,are toolstation trying to attract the DIY enthusiasts one at a time or do they seriously want to supply trades people, I would have thought the company policy was to encourage all aspects of construction trades plus the people who occasionally do their own DIY. Though with the present stock levels most customers are probably purchasing elsewhere.

A Very knowledgeable , friendly and helpful team at Scarborough so a big shout out to everyone (in no order or importance ) Neil, James, Tammy , Amy, Jack , Alex and lastly Victoria who did a great job of selling me some Hamilton mini rollers and MDF primer/sealer. Apologies for missing anyone out or misspelling their names.ps I want the vending machine back NOW!

Absolutely wonderful service . The sales assistant Victoria was so helpful, knowledgeable, patient, caring and kind .Shopping at Toolstation Scarborough was a real pleasure. I will definitely be going there again - the value for money is great. Products they did not have in stock arrived very early the next day and l was kept posted of its movements before arrival instore.

Seems everything you look at on line is out of stock.Toolstation has really gone downhill. Dont use anymore.
