Love place made to feel welcome even with 3 dogs. Didn't have food as we had already eaten, but the food we saw looked very yummy. Apparently, according to the husband, the beer was very nice too.

A really good quality place. Really good food served really well. Served in a really nice pleasant environment. Service is not rushed or slow. It was just right and perfect. Will definitely be going again.

Situated on the beautiful North Yorkshire Coast between Scarborough and Filey the village of Cayton is mentioned in the Domesday book as Caitune and there is no doubt that it existed many years prior 1066. Standing next to the 12th Century church in the heart of this village is the former ‘Smithy’ and ‘Inn’.
For more than 200 years the former cottages on the corner of Church Lane and Main Street have been of service to locals and travellers alike with the resident blacksmith shoeing horses and offering hospitality.
