I have only visited Scarborough corps, but know Filey corps more intimately. To hear the Word of God and receive a warm welcome, ?the Army? is the place to go. The services I have attended have been lively and enjoyable. I believe the musicians of the Army have a vital role to play, reminding people in the Open Air especially, of favourite hymns learned. Bands invariably command a crowd, and have the opportunity of contacting folk reluctant to go to the Hall.
People - whether they know it or not - need to hear and respond to the Gospel. We are sinful beings, living under the penalty of death, because of the sin we all commit. Jesus loved us so much He undertook to die on the Cross in our place. God accepted Jesus? death on our behalf, raising Him to resurrection life, and bringing to those who receive Jesus? gift of Salvation New Life too,.Scripture calls receiving this new life - being ?born again?. Not everyone will go to heaven. Those still tarred with sin are not eligible, according to God?s Word. Only those who have accepted Jesus? gift of Salvation will be welcomed in heaven. Everyone needs to prepare before the opportunity is passed.
