A Birthday Stay to Remember at Crown Spa HotelFrom the moment we arrived at the Crown Spa Hotel for my partners birthday getaway, the experience was nothing short of magical. The staff, with their genuine smiles and attentive service, made us feel welcomed and cherished.A special shoutout to James, a member of the hotel team, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Knowing it was a special occasion, James arranged for us to have a sea view room that offered breathtaking views of the sea. It was the perfect backdrop for a birthday celebration. But James didn?t stop there. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with a heartwarming surprise - a lovely birthday card and a selection of exquisite chocolates waiting on the table. It was these thoughtful touches that elevated our experience from great to extraordinary. The hotel itself was a dream, with its elegant decor, comfortable amenities, and a serene atmosphere that allowed us to unwind and celebrate in style. Every request was met with promptness and a smile, making us feel like royalty. In conclusion, our birthday visit to the Crown Spa Hotel was a delightful experience, thanks to the exceptional service and the personal touch provided by James and the rest of the staff. We left with beautiful memories and a promise to ourselves to return to this little slice of paradise. The parking was coinvent and excellent value, again James was very helpful in guiding us to how to make our parking stay efficient.

If you need to stay in Scarborough on a budget and was to be in a decent location that looks over the sea then this is a good one for you.Don't expect too much though as the hotel is pretty dated, the hotel is so unusually hot which I found so odd! Staff, although attentive and professional as they can be I think are being let down a little in terms of actual bodies to help out. 1 receptionist, 1 bar woman and 1 waiter for a party of 12 of us. Not including other guest of the hotel!Bathroom was good, bed was comfy, thank god a fan was provided!View outside the hotel was magnificent

3 rd time staying this time in a single room the room was clean and nice but not a patch on rooms I had in the past I put this down to it been a single room. The staff are all lovely and nothing is too much trouble the restaurant and bar drinks and meals are what you expect over priced but good Quality.Well here we go the pool is set at 28 it's absolutely freezing the hot tub is like a warm bath nothing hotter loads of people complaining about temperature in pool nothing was done i love this hotel and won't put me off coming but the pool needs to be warmer .The location is ok if you like hills but taxis are 6 pound to town so can't complain.

I visited the "spa" at the crown spa and it was absolutely abysmal. To start they had forgotten i was coming and hadnt arranged the afternoon tea i had requested and paid for.I was then handed a robe and a towel and just stared at blankly. I hadnt been before so I stated as such and was just told "take a left then a right" no walk around, no tour of the "facilities" nothing.I find the changing room and it was really gross, mould smell, half rotted doors - dirty.I head to the tiny pool which had a layer of filth clinging to the top of it. Off to the jacuzzi which i couldnt stay in for longer than 30 seconds because i genuinely couldnt breathe, i don tknow if they had just poured a whole vat of chemicals in there but it was potent, my skin burned, my eyes watered and i couldnt breathe through it - there was also a load of dirty foam sitting on the top.The steam room had no timer in and the lights didnt work, also dirty.Quite like the ice room but the lights didnt work. The 2 saunas were OK.There was no seating area except for a handful of garden furnitre plastic upright chairs no reclining to be had at this "spa" so I couldnt even so much as sit and read my book.I went for the afternoon tea, which honestly i left most of, the "scone" was just a brioche bun with raisins in and was given 2 tubs of strawberry jam.I was in a room by myself and was told to sit at a table which had clearly been used - there was a half empty lemondane glass and disturbed table setting. The people who i came across were obviously lovely people but who hadnt been properly trained, maybe pay the staff more and please for the love of god clean the place!!! (Oh and the chemicals in the jacuzzi sort that out, and get some better furniture, and food.)

Travelled to Crown Spa Scarborough to celebrate 44th wedding anniversary 7th, 8th March 2 nights bed & breakfast. When booking I explained to reception my husband uses a mobility scooter and we required parking bay as he holds blue badge. The lady said it was not a problem. When we arrived no space for car but I was able to park further up the road. The room was no 318 not suitable for a mobility scooter if was horrendous trying to get in and out of. Shower over the bath no good for my husband to use. The bed was too near the wall impossible for my husband to get round very easily he is 87 years old. The room was small and the scooter was stuck in the middle. The room was so cold we had to keep curtains closed to make it warmer, so the sea views we paid for we didn't see. Went down to breakfast 2 staff on, no plates, some tables not set, first 2 cereal bowls I picked up were dirty. Chose Yorkshire grill not very appetising disappointing to say the least. Hot food on cold plates not good. Decided to go to pool lift didn't go to minus 1, asked the reception who said she would try and get a member of staff with a key but all busy so we gave up on that, My husband cannot use the stairs. I returned to reception queued up again for a complimentary robe I thought a hot bath would warm me up I was told robes are £15 refunded later, it does not say that on your info in the room. Night time our anniversary meal we were told we needed to book for later in the evening as there was a function on. Reception told us we should have been informed about the function we were not. Later didn't suit us so we went next do to the Highlander. Next morning my husband ordered a kipper thinking Scarborough plenty of kippers it was boil in the bag. Your hotel is the worst one we have stayed in in the last 25 years we are regular visitors. Yours is not a 4 star hotel. At the entrance there is an ashtray full of cigarette ends and other rubbish it looks disgusting. I have email general Manager and asked for a refund.

Stayed here for 15 nights for work. Whilst a bit run down and needing some renovation in certain areas, the hotel is to a great standard and I was impressed with my room and the service initially. The biggest issue was around housekeeping. It became clear that if my room was "cleaned" very little was actually done with on numerous occasions the bed made the only thing done. When you're staying somewhere for over two weeks a standard of cleanliness is expected, with bedding needing changing and cleaning required. On two days in a row I reported the lack of cleaning to reception and on both occasions nothing improved. I had to ask for towels and glasses on two occasions and a 6 day old coffee cup was still in my room. On the third day with nothing changed I complained to a manager who had my party moved to better rooms which was lovely but unfortunately these rooms weren't cleaned either.I think there's a staffing issue here, which is a shame because they are all so lovely. When you see that staff in the restaurant are working 15 hour days it's no wonder things aren't right. Other than the cleanliness of the room it was just little things that weren't right, cocktail menus on the tables for breakfast, milk jugs on tables for evening meals, inconsistencies of availability of staple breakfast items until you ask for them. But when restaurant staff start so close to start of service what do you expect. Please look after your staff, they are amazing and the quality of the food and service is superb. 15 nights is a stretch for food every night and we never got bored.

Overall a good hotel, clean, attentive staff. I researched prior to our visit and the Crown has given us what we wished for. We had a our meals in cafes and restaurants in the town.....perfect decision.
