Since been taken over or bought by the Chinese next door they appear to be cooking the fish and chips differently and are not to my liking. I love my fish & chips to be cooked in beef dripping . If they advertise that they are doing so I would go back as it is a lovely little chippy

Curry sauce too sweet.
Chips only just cooked with a few needing a few more minutes.
Sausage was nice with nice batter.
Not as nice as it used to be.

Given their personable & quick service, delicious food, and clean café area, Crossgates is always our go-to chippy in Scarborough.

On holiday from Hampshire. Had a fish and chips but second visit here . They are friendly and oh my goodness fish and chips are amazing.
