What a joke this place is they are closed more than they are open and even when they are open the fish is not great who ever heard of a chippy that?s closed at least half the week and even then shut by 7:30pm I?m surprised they stay in business.

Dropped in tonight on our way back to our holiday cottage. My wife and I both had haddock and chips which were cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

Made it this year will be back next year lovely fish and chips. Great friendly staff. Was worth the yearly persistence of seeing if it was as open and now we know the name we can look it up . Thanks kindly.

We were staying in the near by Park Dean resort and just nipped past and picked up some chips. Me and the kids waited in the car and my husband brought back the chips. They were in a large brown box and when I opened them this absolutely disgusting smell hit me. Hard to describe really but all I can imagine is very old oil maybe. I tasted one anyway and had to spit it out. The weird taste didn't smell like something edible. They were put in boot as we drove on to a nearby shop. When my husband got out to go into the shop me and the kids had to ask him to take them out and find a bin because the smell of them was so vile. I don't know how anyone could have gone into that chip shop that day and actually ate the chips.

Cowboys who take advantage of two women stranded on the road. Even when the police who called for their recovery told them that it was a no fee, they still drove their car away and charged £150.00 for release!Con artists.

The fish and chips were very tasty. The name has changed to "Wilkes at Cayton Fisheries" so this needs to be changed online as the old reviews don't count towards the overall rating, as the business has overall improved drastically. They open as they say on the door too (at least in season)

Met my husband to pick up tea last night and he was second to be served waiting in the queue when a third person walked in and got serve straight away. He expressed his disgust at being ignored and left. It is safe to say we will never go back there again! Terrible customer service! There is a great chip shop up the road so will go there instead.

My car was taken there after an accident. Despite rolling it 4 times I was well enough to go the following day to pick up my work gear. The really unhelpful man I spoke to was desperately trying to put me off going through, because I couldn't got there until 12.30 and they close at 1 on a Friday. The result didn't get my gear and had to take a week off work losing pay. He kept telling me they were open at 8 am Monday, despite me telling him several times I couldn't get there as I had to rely on a lift. Rang the following Friday and spoke to Jason who was very helpful and apologetic, but couldn't really help as my car had been moved to Co Parts in York.
