Visited this nice looking cafe for a spot of breakfast with my Partner as we thought it was nice looking. I will keep this short and sweet, the lady serving us from extremely rude and unprofessional and at one point told some customers to go outside as she brought there order out and then proceeded to gossip/slag them off to her ?mates/friends/locals? in full view of other customers! Avoid this place at all costs as this lady should not be working in a customer service environment and the person who has employed her should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves!!!

Decided to call in for a cup of tea as it looked quite cute and appealing. How wrong we were! The woman serving was very unprofessional and not making people very welcome apart from the shady undesirable looking locals at the reserved table. She was openly talking about customers when they were sitting outside and talking about passers by. At one point stating I am in the wrong business as I?m not a people person. We did agree on that. She is rude and very disrespectful for a business owner never mind a lady !! Give it a miss and go to the very cute friendly places along bar street towards town

This is a fantastic little find on St Nicholas Cliff. First visited 20+ Years ago still coming back. People all talkative. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced and the coffee is sublime. Well worth a visit. Good to visit whether the Weather is good or bad! You'll always feel welcome.

Great place. The conversations between the owner and the locals is very entertaining and you?re free to join in. Will definitely go here again.

Café Italia is a unique local cafe full of character and characters. The locals gather for coffee and conversation and the latter flows at an amusing rate. Well worth a visit if you are a people watcher, and you?re encouraged to join in. The proprietor (Janette) has an infectious personality and her Italian cuisine is delicious

Called in for a little bit to eat, to be honest it?s small and not the most luxury of places? the other clientele in there was at best, down and outs. The coffee was burnt - yes you can bun coffee, and the food, well I should have not bothered! I?ve actually had better sandwiches from pals cabin on the lay-by on A57. What disappoints me most if the lady owner as when I mentioned I was staying at the grand hotel she went into a whirlwind of abuse about the hotel. When I asked if she had ever stayed she just said said no, well then lady in your fake Italian cafe don?t go shouting about it!

Wonderful place! The owners were lovely and very welcoming, and I had a delicious cheese and onion sandwich that was ready in less than 2 minutes along with a really nice cup of tea. I highly recommend coming here, it was so nice.

This is our favourite coffee shop in Scarborough. The atmosphere is so special. The owner is a lovely lady who makes the place unique. Food is fresh, made when you order and Italian in style. Prices are excellent and choice is great. This lovely place, although tiny and limited for space due to social distancing is worth waiting for.

lovely coffees, toasties and muffins with fresh salad plus, unusually Dandelion Coffee (a Victorian favourite of Ann Bronte) all in petite bistro which is usually full.
