Usual Aldi relatively well priced for quite good quality food . Waitrose stop resting on your laurels .

One of the worst Aldi stores I've visited. The store feels cramped, untidy and in need of cleaning.
Staff are pretty much going through the motions without any customer engagement at all. The big guy wandering about near the checkouts was offhand to the point of rudeness.
And the carpark! Not overstay and pay, oh no it's a weird system where you have to register to do your shopping or pay £70 charge. A proper money maker for someone. Must catch lots of visitors out. Two people in front of us left without registering. I nearly missed it until I read the signs carefully.
All in all, avoid.

Very strange how you have to put a registration number in before you exit the shop. The registration machine is not in the best place. Other than that, got what I wanted

There are bargains to be had, if you can handle the amount of people cramped into a store too small for the customer base.

EDIT......I was asked to make 4 large chicken burgers with 500g of minced chicken. 8/5/25.. I put the mince in a bowl ready to add the seasoning then noticed the amount of muscle tendons that should have been removed from the meat before it was minced, see the photo all the white bits which are tendons and other items that are found in a drumstick no wonder some of the meat products are sold cheaper than other retailers of food, memo to self .. no more minced chicken to make into burgers until they are supplied by more talented butchers.....
The 1 star rating is not for the store, but for the not so fantastic products and carriers they sell for your shopping, I chose a 100% compostable bag save the environment I thought, instead of plastic. Will the company buyers take note they are not really suitable for putting your shopping in and need to be taken off sale before more people end up with their food dropping onto the floor, see the photo it couldn't even withstand the weight of a 2kilo chicken the handles ripped with the sheer weight of one nice plump chicken...
Oh dear I'm having to edit the review, I bought a pack of tomatoes today 17th may 22 started to eat them from the pack as a quick snack then I reached the bottom and found one half covered with fuzzy mould I've tried to add a photo to the review but it doesnt seem to be possible, its not something that can be called fresh food, and I doubt anyone could call it edible.. though I have submitted a photo to the main site for customer photos let's hope it gets used !!
Plus the other toms I had eaten had no taste other than that of trying trying to eat dry cardboard, if I could lower the review rating I would. I must admit its my fault for buying without fully checking each product in the pack because to be honest the condition of the veg and fruit section often contains rotten produce..... Get your act together in the Scarborough store its a health and safety incident waiting to happen with a mix of out of date or rotten food, and as per normal the store is normally full of abandoned stock trolleys that customers could easily walk into or trip over on them
