Excellent stay marked rooms as 3 star simply because the building is extremely old and wetherspoon have done the best possible however our carpet was fraid to the bathroom door I'm thinking rooms must be getting ready for a re vamp however, don't be put off the place and staff are excellent. Despite the fact that it was a busy new years eve the service was the best I've experienced at any Wetherspoons.

What a terrible experience. We walked into the unicorn hotel as the first place we arrived in ripon. We were met with abuse from the locals as my wife is suffering from cancer and has unfortunately lost all of her hair. We spoke to some staff as we had children with us. The first member of staff tried to help but as soon as the manager turned up he was referring to the man by name and seemed to take no action. Obviously a local drinker can get away with murder in here. Disgrace of an establishment

Getting dated now but cheap enough. Book early as this place is very popular.
Rooms: Very comfortable bed, tea coffee etc Iron and board.
Emergency light can be annoying.
Nearby activities: Plenty of nice places to eat in and around
Food and drinks: Both are cheap enough

Food and drinks: Service was very slow due to lack of staff, but note that the staff who were on duty behind the bar did work hard, dont think the management helped out in anyway !!

We went for the famous value of a JDW breakfast and were very happy with our decision. Food was faultless: well-presented, tasty. We had an extra coffee as well.
Staff were, as usual at JDW, a bit stretched though polite etc. The site isn't well arranged for outside space and smoking.

Lovely building, great staff. Out door seating area, very reasonably priced. Everything you would want for a short stay in Ripon.
It's in a good location, with cathedral and town.
Everywhere is clean and tidy.

Called in for lunch and drinks yesterday.
The overall look of the place was very disappointing inside. Everything looked and felt grubby.
The bar staff were very busy but did an excellent job of serving everyone as quickly as possible.
The food was not up to usual standards. The ham looked and tasted like wafer thin ham from a supermarket and the fish was just mostly batter.
We love going into the different Wetherspoons when we visit new places but this one was a big disappointment.
