Nice location, lovely building & gardens.Food & drinks: We have just been in for a meal & were very disappointed. We came to celebrate a 83rd birthday and mothers day. The service at the bar was good. The service for the meal was appalling. We had to remind them about our starter 30 minutes after ordering. All starters were very nice when they arrived. We then waited for ages and had to ask 3 times for our main meals. They arrived 2 lamb burgers & 1 Ripon burger with thick cut chips were small dry burgers with fries. Fries were aired. Mixed grill was dry & over done. It was as though they had been sat on a side. The fish ordered was the only meal enjoyed. Photo attached is the lamb burger without tomato as you don't get any salad. The one with the tomato shows the size of the burger. We have eaten here before and it was very good hence us going back today. I didn't complain as we had been in there 2 hours and just wanted to leave. Very disappointing meal and experience all round. Would recommend ordering 2 starters and no main meal. £16.50 for a small dry burger & fries is really not worth it!!

I had the pleasure of visiting The Ripon Inn Hotel last Sunday for breakfast and lunch, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by an amazing and lovely staff who made me feel right at home. The food was simply delicious, and each dish was beautifully plated, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and culinary expertise. It's evident that a lot of care and passion goes into every meal served at The Ripon Inn.Moreover, the atmosphere of the hotel was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a delightful dining experience. Whether you're looking for a cozy breakfast or a relaxing retreat, The Ripon Inn Hotel exceeds expectations in every aspect.Overall, I highly recommend The Ripon Inn Hotel to anyone looking for exceptional food, impeccable service, and a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be returning in the future!

We stayed for one ?? night in room 2 - two adults, one child and two dogs in room 2 in early March 2024. The hotel has been refurbished to a good standard. The hotel ? is gorgeous, BUT:1) Not enough parking on arrival.2) Reception - self check in. I don?t know about you, but I just want to talk to a human and be made to feel welcome. We walked in. Checked in and disappeared to our room. Such a HUGE opportunity for any business to set the tone and let guests know a bit about the hotel and area.3) We paid £250 ? for one night. I stay in hotels all across the country for business. Rarely pay that much in London. Appreciate that it?s for 3 people and not one, but NO fridge. NO bottled water and a TINY bathroom. Slight breeze coming in from the sash window. The showers? You can hear the boiler / pump pushing hot water into the rooms. Is was a noisy wake up at 0830 on Sunday. Not good and I suspect many will complain about this in the future. Worse? Someone was hoovering at 9am in the very small corridor and left a giant bar of new bedsheets on the floor for our departure.Room was very quiet, but very overpriced ? for what it is.4) Bar area in the evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of drinks on offer. Half of the menu was unavailable. The hotel won?t allow you to set up a tab, so it?s pay as you go for anything you want to drink and eat. There?s no table service in the restaurant.Dogs are allowed. There were plenty in the bar area and there was no trouble. The doggy dinner was £5,50 for a small bowl of homemade biscuits. I ordered two. I was expecting a small portion of chicken and gravy but only one came after all our order arrived; had to remind staff. Couldn?t believe the price for what it was.We paid £88 for three. Fries portions were small and the steak came with a small sprinkle of salad leaves and a tiny mushroom and tomato (£25). X4 small onion rings (not even homemade) for £4.50.The atmosphere was lovely and the decor is really nice. I bet it?s gorgeous venue in the summer.5) Breakfast. It?s self service. We arrived around 0930. It?s a buffet style setup which means the hot food sits on a hot plate under a lamp. Food was okay, with stock all depending on when you arrive.6) Grounds. The garden is lovely- even in March - with Spa Park next door and a view to Ripon cathedral ?? Enough space to walk through dogs and get some fresh air. Again, I suspect it would be lovely in the summer. We would stay there again, and I?d love to see the hotel thrive, but it must resolve the shower/boiler humming noise and. sort out the ?service? on arrival and for evening dinner, but I do feel that £250 excluding £100+ on food and drinks would be better spent in a local AirBnB.

Stayed with the inn collection on several occasions, they never disappointed.Pete made our stay even more enjoyable as he sorted out a couple of very minor issues with great aplomb. Thanks Pete.Great location, lovely grounds would thoroughly recommend. Great value too what more could you ask for.We will definitely be returning.Thank you.Rooms: Great room, comfy bed.

A very striking refurbishment, with buckets of character and lots of space. Plenty of parking, and only a short walk from the town centre.Rooms: Very comfortable and functional rooms, with a nice bathroom.

Sadly a very, very basic place. Rooms didn?t even have bottled water upon arriving after a 5 hour journey. The en suite was the size of a small storage room with knees hitting the wall when sitting on the toilet. Paid extra for a garden view but this was blocked by the terrace roof, so no view at all! Multiple food items on the menu were not available over the course of three days that we stayed. Everything was very basic. Staff did not go out of their way to accommodate. Would not recommend tbh and would not stay here again.

Only went to the bar it was great, sharp intake of breath as the drinks prices are a bit steep. No, they are expensive. Which is probably why I'm the 40 minutes were drank out drinks over none of the other drinkers bought a second drink. Very curious about the alterations and refurb so had a nosey at the ground floor and it looks very impressive! Lots of areas to be private some gorgeous window seating there decor has a lot of fake wood but it feels warm and inviting it's certainly somewhere I would choose to stay if I didn't live down the road. The Ripon Inn is perfectly placed for exploring Ripon. There's a lot to see. And wider afield Pately bridge the Dales, North Yorkshire moors. Sutton bank.(30 mins)Food & drinks: Drinks are expensive a good variety menu looks good

Went for Sunday roast. Very good with plenty of beef nicely pink in the middle. The side of cauliflower cheese was delicious. Nice atmosphere and tables not too close to others.

Could not fault it. So good.We will be back when we can get tickets for performances at the Cathedral.Rooms: Spacious rooms freshly up dated yet tastefully decorated with facilities of a very high standard. No compromises here.

Staff unhelpful. No effort to seat us as a family of 6 for Sunday dining. No welcome at all. No seating for larger than 4 in a group. Food was cold . Extra condiments ordered never came. Food expensive for what you get. Won't be returning.
