Stayed for 1 night in the yore room, greeted by Ann who showed us to our room , beautiful big room with a sofa and the comfiest big bed I've slept in apart from my own. We had an evening meal I had the bay burger and my husband had the steak pie, both were excellent, as was the breakfast the following morning. Would definitely come back to this hotel on our next visit to Masham ?

Anne and Rob are fantastic hosts. The pub is right in the middle of town. A great sized room ( but steep stairs to get to). But Ann and Rob will help with the luggage. The shower hot and strong. The food and beer better than pub food. All home made. Great pies and the Lasagna fantastic. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great English pub experience.

Good place to have a drink on the way back home from our nights stay at the nearby Swinton Park hotel . Lovely couple running the pub. Great selection of drinks. Love the barrels and pipe work on the wall. We did not stay for food but will bare it in mind for future visits to the area

Traditional family run pub in the centre of Masham. The market Square is only a few yards away where there is plenty of parking and an honesty box to pay. We were welcomed by Ann, a lovely lady who showed us to a comfortable & tastefully decorated room with modern ensuite shower room, all immaculately clean. There was complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, delicious muffins and a small fridge with yougurts. We wandered back down to the bar with comfortable seating where dogs are allowed, I always enjoy a fuss, there is also a back room where they can sit with their owners to eat and an enclosed beer garden to the rear of the pub. Plenty of local ales on tap of which hubby enjoyed a few. From Theakston, Black Sheep and Wensleydale breweries. Also a good selection of spirits which as a gin girl pleased me. For our meal we sat I the dining area where dogs aren't allowed. There are jugs of fresh flowers all around which I think is always a nice touch. We chose one of the specials, home made lasagne with salad & garlic bread with sides of chips, all very good and washed down with a bottlevof Shiraz. We didn't have room for dessert so retreated to our room and comfortable bed. There are lots of things to do while here including numerous walks from Masham along the river to Marfield wetlands or a longer walk to Hackfall woods to name a couple. There are 2 breweries in the town where you can book a tour. The restaurant No Smoke is right next door to the pub which is excellent. We went the last time we were at Masham and can highly recommend. There are also several other pubs but I can honestly say this is my favourite. It is the first time we've stayed here but it won't be the last.

A lovely hotel with staff that go above and beyond for you. The owners are lovely and very accommodating. The food is extremely nice and home made and the room was really cosy and homely. A bonus point for the TV being a smart one and allowing us to use Netflix. The beer up here is also much better!!

Visited recently for an evening meal upon arrival the staff were all pleasant and helpful. The meals themselves arrived hot and well cooked however I felt they are slightly overpriced for what you get.

An absolute gem of a place. Stayed last night as we were at the Black Sheep beer festival as a family. We were greeted by Ann who was so welcoming and chatted with us for a while. Our room was beautiful and really quirky with the comfiest beds and had everything that we could possibly need. We preordered breakfast for the morning which had lots of choice and for the cooked breakfast you chose exactly what you wanted. We were always asked if we had everything we needed, which we did. All the staff there were so friendly and can definitely recommend staying here. We will be back soon. Thank you Ann, Robert and everyone else working there.

I dropped in on spec this evening for an early dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed it, lovely food and polite staff. Refreshing to be in a proper pub. Thinking of a return visit with a stay so I can try a few pints.

Had 1 night stay here, very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic. Nice rooms with comfortable bed. Shower was hot and powerful. Had a good nights sleep. Would recommend a brewery tour while in masham.

I feel for businesses incurring energy price increases but to stop providing cooked breakfast to reduce costs is like saying a petrol station won?t supply petrol to save money too. I hope it survives but sounds like this is the start of the end for the Bay Horse

We stayed here for on night as we were visiting the nearby Swinton Estate for the Chefs table. Excellent location in the centre of Masham. Nice room in a lovely pub and very friendly and helpful staff. The cooked breakfast set us up nicely for a lovely walk and they were more than happy to accommodate our specific breakfast request.

We've just enjoyed a lovely couple of nights at the Bay Horse after making a last-minute booking (book direct for the best prices). We received a warm welcome on arrival and the staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. We paid extra for breakfast (which was cooked to order and delicious) and we also enjoyed a nice meal in the pub dining area too! The cask beers were also very well presented (important in a brewery town!) and we enjoyed a few pints in front of the wood burner. We'd honestly be nitpicking to find any faults... OK, so the doors to/in the room are a bit small, the stairs a little steep, and the floors a bit wonky in places... but this simply adds to the charm of this tastefully furnished period property (choose a bland corporate travel tavern if any of that bothers you!). Our room was a little hot on the second evening, but opening the window for a few minutes quickly brought the temperature down (it was January after all!). In summary, if you're looking for quality pub accommodation in a great location, with great food and great beer then certainly consider the Bay Horse. It's handily located opposite the Tourist Info office (who recommended a pretty 3-4 hour circular walk to Hackfall Woods - well worth a visit). Thank you, Ann and Rob and the team for a wonderful stay. We will not hesitate to recommend your lovely pub to our friends, colleagues and family!
