All the staff very polite, helpful and informative. The optician was charming, professional and explained everything as she went along. ALL the staff i came into contact with were helpful in all ways. Highly recommended!!!

A wonderful store! My mum - who has dementia - was given an eye test yesterday and she was treated so kindly and with such respect. The optician -Yusif - really made her feel at ease and was just brilliant. I also appreciated how it was possible to fit mum in over lunchtime. Thank you so much. Really appreciated.

Speed, helpful and friendly.I can't say more, after breaking my pair of glasses on a Sunday evening, I was able to get an appointment the next day. Just to add to the drama I was going on holiday the following Saturday morning!!After been seen on Monday by a helpful chap called Cameron. He ensured me that he would try his best to get the glasses to me before the weekend.Normally it can take upto a week to get a pair. I got mine on that Wednesday!! Not only that but since they had a fantastic offer on them I was able to get a pair of prescription sunglasses as well!!! Perfect for my sunny getaway.Massive thank you to - Natasha, Vic, Paul & CameronAbsolutely amazing

Had a glasses check 2 weeks ago, a very pleasant experience, and afterwards booked a contact lens check for today at 17.35. I turned up 10 minutes early and was eventually seen at 17:55. I had no problems with this, I suspected they were just running behind given it was a later appointment.The consultation started and a nice gentlemen who was looking after me explained that he couldn't do my contact lens check as although I WAS WEARING my lenses, as I had changed brand since my last check, they were unable to continue. I didn't fully understand the technicalities of why a change of brand makes a difference but he is the optician not me so I accepted this as he explained that he would order a trial pair of my previous brand contact lenses, and I should return to the store wearing these to then complete the contact lens check. I made a new appointment for two weeks time and left relatively happy.However, just getting into my car, I received a call from a clearly annoyed manageress, who said she was calling me (more berating me) to find out why I turned up to my contact lens appointment without my lenses! I told her I was actually wearing them. She went on, I want to know why you ticked the box to say you understood you had to wear your contact lenses to your contact lens appointment and you didn't turn up wearing them! Again, I told her I was wearing my lenses. She was rude and aggressive with an accusatory tone. She clearly hadn't got her facts right from her much more pleasant employee before making this call to have a go at me!To add further insult to injury, she then told me I couldn't have the re-booked contact lens appointment I had just made with the pleasant young man! I could only have appointments after 4pm. Now I am perplexed! At this stage I was in my car, wanting to get home, and to not start checking my diary again, so told her such and that I would call the store back.On reflection, on my drive home, as you often do in these situations I decided that I do not want to give this woman any of my business and will not be returning. A shame given I have used Specsavers Ripon for many years, but if this is how the manager now behaves I am not interested. I am still quite shocked as to how abrupt and unprofessional this call was and the tone in which she spoke to me within seconds of me saying hello. I wanted to speak to Head Office but have now realised these are franchises.Unacceptable behaviour, I just hope the call was recorded so the rest of her team can listen to it as a lesson in how not to behave. I am sure the young man will attest that I was very pleasant in the consultation...I'm sure many others would have behaved very differently...I would have thought the manager may have wanted to call and apologise for all the confusion and my wasted visit!If indeed my appointment had gone ahead, I would have been there after the store closed at 18:30!
