A little gem! Called in for lunch and they had pasta Bolognese on the specials menu but thought the portion size might be too big as I was dining out that evening but the super friendly owner said he could do a smaller portion and I'm glad he did because it was so tasty. My wife had tasty soup with the best cheese scone. Friendly staff and will definitely return.

A group of 12 of us in Ripon for the day to visit the Workhouse and Prison Museums booked for lunch at Chimes. We were seated together in the pretty little conservatory and received immediate service from the friendly café owner and his lovely young assistant, Ruby. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty: deep filled sandwiches with salad and crisps, soup with the best-ever cheese scones and a delicious creamy feta, tomato and sweet chilli quiche. The owner even gave me a bit of quiche to try. Yum, yum! Cannot recommend this little café too highly.

5 of use called in for a snack after visiting the cathedral. Friendly welcoming staff and great food. Giant sausage roll well worth trying.

Great little find. Food was excellent and staff very attentive. Service was quick and the scones are excellent. We tried the marzipan & cherry and lemon & blueberry.

Having tried scones all over the UK, this cafe wins hands down. Amazing!! The cherry and marzipan cannot be beaten!!! The staff make you feel welcome and have brilliant customer service !!!

Just popped in for a brew and a scone and can thoroughly recommend. Mark the owner is a genial host as are his staff. Had the lemon and blueberry scone that are freshly baked and it was the best I've ever had. Will definitely return when we visit the area again.

One of the best cafes we visit. Best scones, possibly in the land. A must if you visit Ripon, or just want a run out. Very friendly staff.

We were very disappointed with ploughman's platter. There was no ham, cheese or bread. There was a severe excess of carbohydrates and a cheese scone with a ploughman's just isn't right. Unlikely to return. Also very expensive for what we had.

Had a latte here. Oat milk was avaliable. I enjoyed it. Has seating in the front, back, and in the back garden.
