On our travels me and my children stopped for some food after visiting Richmond castle . The staff were welcoming and we were given a table . I ordered 2 children roasts and one for myself . The food arrived in about 10 mins I was a little surprised with how small my plate was and the portion sizes everything was just piled ontop of each other one piece of broccoli a small bit of cabbage a few carrots 2 bits of parsnips a few roasties one potato still had skin on and wasn?t roasted the Yorkshire pud was over cooked the meal claimed the lamb came with mint sauce and it didn?t the meat was cold and chewy the gravy lay like a thick blanket over everything and was also cold . This was also the case with the childrens meal although their plate was bigger than mine . I feel it would be better to have the gravy seperate so customers could put themselves as I felt it also ruined the meal as did my son and didn?t want to eat it . Overal I was very disappointed with the food but not disappointed with how we were greeted

Great food, staff and prices are good. Whilst it's dog friendly there's a good sized 'dog free' area to eat more hygienically. The open topped pies are stuffed with filling, will be back

We only picked this pub as it was dog friendly but I?m glad we did. I ordered the Cumberland sausage with cheese and leek mash hubby ordered ham egg and chips both meals were lovely. I?m a picky eater but my meal got 10/10 and I will definitely return here next time I?m in Richmond.

My usual stop for an evening meal when in Richmond, for several reasons, great food at a good price, dog friendly (important to me) and friendly staff. Even when busy my food has always arrived promptly and nicely presented. Can recommend the daily roast options, especially after a day either working or walking.

Went in with my young son. Waiting for the rest of the family to arrive. I put a pound in the pool table ( the pub was virtually empty if not empty) and went to the bar to ask for some chalk. Was met with a puzzled look as if what was I playing at. Was told if I wasn't buying a drink then I had to leave. I was actually given my pound back, told my son to stop putting the balls on the table, and left. Met my family in town and told them what had happened just went home. Not somewhere I would recommend if you want to feel accepted...Sorry

We meet here for our monthly book club and have recently held our Xmas meal here also. There was ten of us this year and the food was absolutely superb - generous portions and cooked to perfection. I am coeliac and the staff and chef could not have been more accommodating- I had the roast beef and they even provided a decent sized gluten free yorkshire pudding which I've never been offered anywhere else before! The staff are always friendly and the drinks are very reasonably priced. A real asset to our lovely town! ?

Wow well what can I say, the burger was better than five guys, tasty burger you could tell it was quality, home made chips yum and the portion size I?m now close to a food coma. I will most definitely be going again.

Lovely pub, lots of space, dog friendly, and seriously good food. Very friendly and pleasant staff too. I recommend the chicken, ham, and mushroom pie!
