Stayed here while attending a wedding in the area. Rooms where really nice. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately it was in a heat wave and the rooms were unimaginably hot. This obviously isn't the hotels fault, however only allowing the windows to open 1 inch is.
I also ate at the restaurant 3 tiles during my stay. The food really is very good. However 2 out of 3 times my order came out incorrect. Again staff where happy to fix the order. 1st time the brought out the correction after the other 10 people in the party had finished eating though.
I wouldn't stay here again unless I was out of options unfortunately.

Walk in for tea without booking was greated and seated with a warm welcome average price and I can't complain about the food it was delicious and was not waiting long for it to . Didn't give a star rating as we didn't stay in the hotel.

When we arrived the table hadn?t been cleaned, and staff needed asking more than once to wipe it. The food then took ages to come, at which point the wrong item was delivered despite clarification upon ordering. The ?rich beef ragu? or as it should be known ?thin mince and dumplings? was particularly bad, and I?m not sure the ?rosemary dumplings? had seen a sprig of rosemary in their life. Reading other reviews seems that other people have had similar experiences.

Lovely Sunday lunch in the bar area with our furry friend.

Had afternoon tea here. Great service, good selection of sandwiches and delicious mini cakes, nicely presented and reasonably priced.

Since it came under new ownership, this place has gone rapidly downhill. We went for a meal here recently. Despite a mandatory service charge, we had to pick up our drinks at the bar and collect our own cutlery and condiments from the station. Food took ages to come and when it did it was luke warm and not very nice.

Really pleasant chilled out place where we enjoyed a couple of pints. Very dog friendly.

Service was excellent. Beverages also excellent.
Food came out varying temperatures. I think because we were a large party, soe of the food had been sitting out/under the lamps meaning the quality had dropped off some of the dishes.
No option to worry about complaining and sending it back because we had a little one with us who didn't have the patience to wait.
Maybe adopt a policy of when it's ready, bring it out rather than a polite version of waiting until all the dishes are cooked.
Nice experience regardless.

We stayed for a night en route to Scotland. The room was lovely, we had dinner (goats cheese bruschetta followed by profiteroles) which was delicious and breakfast which offered fresh fruit salad. Great place to stay and we'll be back as we had no time to explore Richmond.

Had Sunday lunch. Generous servings of beef (2 thick slices which was just a little tough in a flavoursome jus) and venison (beautifully tender in a blackcurrant jus) together with plenty of well cooked veg and various potatoes. Not the best we've ever had but pretty decent. The manager and staff were very pleasant and polite. Prices were OK for the beef at £18 but a bit expensive for the venison at £25. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely eat here again.

Great location, right on the Market Square, with lovely decking area to sit outside.
Our room (211) was down a pokey corridor, so 1st impressions not good, however once inside it wasn?t too bad - could do with a bit of TLC and a lick of paint but a nice large room with large on-suite and clean. Down side was no lift, so quite a few stairs to conquer to get to 2nd floor.
Staff were all lovely, nothing too much trouble.
Worth a visit to the Green Howard?s museum opposite the hotel - very interesting and well impressed with the medal room.
Overall had a really nice stay at the Kings Head.
