Stayed one night. Such a lovely peaceful place. Our room was a good size bright and had everything required for our stay. Loved the ceiling fan which kept us cool on one of the hottest days of the year.located in a nice street a short walk from the town centre. The hotel had a lovely outside space and a very good English breakfast amongst other choices. TOP Tip: breakfast is best ordered the night before parking to rear of hotel as street spaces are limited

Although we arrived early, Jennifer gave us our keys so we could let ourselves in later. She kindly gave us a few recommendations for lunch. Great local knowledge.
The B&B was in a great location, only a short walk from the town centre. Room was very nice with a full beverage tray along with chilled water and milk available in a chill box on the landing.
Excellent breakfast as well...
Definitely well worth booking when in the area.

We really enjoyed our two night midweek break. A very warm welcome from our host, lovely room (with a ceiling fan which was a blessing), nice garden at the rear and although there is no bar, glasses are left out for your use so you can buy your own. The breakfast was excellent and varied. The location is very close to everything. It also has its own carpark which in itself a rarity in Richmond.

We stayed two nights at the Frenchgate B&B as we were going to a wedding nearby. The service was excellent and smooth. We were sent directions for parking in advance, we were given a iron and ironing board and when we missed breakfast after the wedding we were offered a packed lunch and coffee. The breakfast was generous and delicious and the room was a very good size. Location is also fantastic and Richmond is a lovely town to spend some time in.

Just spent the night in room No4 on a surprise visit with my wife. Lovely room with probably the widest bath I've ever seen in a hotel room. Excellent cooked breakfast, free parking outside, great location, a short walk from the centre of the town and best of all the perfect friendly host in Jennifer who couldn't do enough for her quests, definitely recommend.

Beautiful, attractive old stone built property.
Large warm, room with huge comfortable bed and freestanding bath in corner. Overlooking the cobbled road outside.
Large bathroom with excellent walk in shower. High quality fittings.
Free parking with no restrictions. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by our host and shown to our room, everything clearly explained.
Extensive breakfast menue, perfectly prepared.
In the evening we had tapas at 29 Frenchgate, just a 5 minute stroll down the hill towards the market square. A small perfectly run establishment. Some of the best tapas ever.
Plenty of interesting walks in and around the town. Good bus service from the market square.

Jennifer at Frenchgate Bed and breakfast is the loveliest host you could even ask for.
She greeted me and showed me around the place with great care and friendliness, recommended places to visit and eat and went above and beyond to cater to my dietary requirements (vegan).
The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated and the location couldn't be better if you're exploring Richmond, just a couple of minutes walk to the town centre.
I had a calm, comfortable stay and would highly recommend Frenchgate bed and breakfast to anyone staying in Richmond. I hope I'll be back!

This is a very nice, up market hotel. My room was a very good size, big enough to accommodate a free standing bath in it. Good quality furnishings.
I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I don't think she had worked there long, but was very enthusiastic about the rooms and breakfast.
For breakfast I had the Smoked Salmon and Scrambled eggs, with the eggs done exactly right, nice and creamy.

We were allowed to spend the night in the oldest room in the house. A little gem that we didn't expect on our Coast to Coast tour. Whirlpool meets museum - beautifully and lovingly restored. Also very nice operators!
Nice little town, wonderful Italian restaurant around the corner. Really nice place to stay.

Very friendly hotel in a great location. The host was very helpful and the breakfast excellent. The buildings are very old and full of character however our bathroom was getting ready for a refurb.
