Best sirloin steak and plenty of peppercorn sauce. We did not use the hotel. Update, the parmo is not bad too.

Can only review the food. Has only dined there. Black and blue burger was amazing. Sautéed mushrooms with blue cheese topped on two smashed patties with were so flavoursome. Husband?s Parmo was okay. Asked for peas instead of salad and as the picture the portion was tiny.

Was looking for somewhere local to take my elderly mam out for lunch. Not easy to find a pub actually open on a Monday lunchtime around here. Anyway, we have passed this pub many times, and actually tried a few times to call in and the car park was rammed full so we went elsewhere.
However, this time we got in. It was 12.00pm and we were the first few in, but soon quite a few people had filtered in which was quite good considering in was a Monday lunchtime.
My mum had the home-made pie of the day, which was lovely. I think if I went back I?d have that. Me and the Mrs had Burgers, mine the beef, my wife the chicken. Both were really nice and the fries were brilliant.
I had a slight issue with my burger, but the manager sorted it no problem at all. Credit to him.
My mam had the crumble pudding with custard which was really tasty.
There?s loads of offers on as well, like two parmo?s for £25 on a Monday, so I think we?ll have to try them soon.
There?s a massive beer garden out the back, with a nice play area. We will have to bring our grandson for a play soon.

Very handy, just off the A1. Excellent pub, popular, friendly with good Guinness and really comprehensive menu. I was going to stop off and grab some fish and chips. I'm so glad I didn't. Super friendly staff just added the icing on the cake.
Word if warning, if resting up in the car park, the dustmen empty the bins very early in the morning. I was on the road by 0600hrs as a result of their early morning call.

Used to really enjoy eating here and did so frequently but since the menu changed we have not enjoyed it. Tried it twice now but really gone downhill - the fish and batter were undercooked - my son couldn?t even eat it and that?s not like him. The steak too was not enjoyable. Sadly haven?t dared venture back.

Visited on a Friday at 1pm after dropping my car off at the garage next door (Off Rhodes), which is great.
The pub has plenty of parking and a nice open reception on to the bar area. The pub was mid level busy from quite a few groups of 2 and a party of 10, which had reserved space at the rear of the dining area.
I ordered a light bite of a tuna, Mayo, and cheese wrap, and it came with hand cooked chips and salad. I have to say this was the nicest version of this wrap I have eaten, well filled, and the cheese perfectly melted around the inner edge of the wrap. The chips were lovely too so I didn't leave a thing.
I also had a lager shandy and a pot of tea, and all were excellent.
The 2 young bar staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
100% recommended.

Great place to stay, nice clean rooms with en suite (shower could be bigger), comfy beds(you need better pillows) very good location, friendly people, good outside area, great selection of food, we ordered starters as a snack & we were not disappointed with the portions, very good selection of beers/wine,.

Really nice pub. Good atmosphere. Nice outdoor area with kids play park. Nice bar and restaurant. Friendly service. The Parmo was lovely apart from the béchamel sauce being a bit watery. The tacos had this lovely meat but the tacos were soft. Overall good food, good portions and prices were very good. Kids eating for £1 on a Saturday is fantastic.

Stopped for a night on the Coast to Coast.
Did think when I booked it breakfast was provided but that was not the case
Comfortable simple room with friendly staff.
