great lunch venue, good menu with lots of vegetarian options, service was prompt and friendly and would looking forward to going back for dinner soon

I would echo a few of the other reviews on here in that the food is amazing, but the service is odd. Had booked prior and was shown to a lovely table and they took a drinks order , but that seemed to take a long time after ordering. Lack of staff available I think . Took a long time to order food also. Lots of different staff serving us also. I would sit everyone less spread out also and maybe sit us a bit nearer if a quiet day. It almost feels like you just get forgotten about .

We arrived frazzled because we drove around the grounds in the dark not knowing where to go. The signage inside the grounds is no help at all. Allow time for this if you haven't been before. Fortunately we had because we wanted a pre dinner drink in the bar before we ate. Even when we did arrive we weren't sure if we had arrived at the back entrance because we stood for ages with no welcome or acknowledgement. A very disappointing start to our evening.When someone did come they didn't take our coats. We went through to the snug for a drink. They gave us menus and went away. Later came back for our order.We got our drinks and ordered our food. Then very quickly afterwards we were asked to go through to the restaurant. We had only had a couple of sips of our drinks and it was still prior to the time we had actually booked our table for (7.30pm).We felt rushed.The food came and was fabulous. I had the beetroot starter which had beautifully cooked beetroots and some pickles. It also had a grain through it. I couldn't remember what the grain was so asked a member of staff. She didn't know so went away to ask and came back saying it was probably buckwheat....probably!My main was pork belly with parsnip and an apple reduction. The pork could have been cooked a little longer. I think belly needs to be very well cooked until really soft. The top skin was impossible to cut through as it was not crisp, I couldn't eat it. A steak knife would have helped. Having said that it was still a good dish which could have been excellent. We had sides of mashed potato and greens with pickles both superb.The presentation of both dishes was innovative and inviting. Portion size was good too - not tiny portions of fiddled with food which I much prefer.The service was not as polished as the food. There was no obvious manager and we had different servers which is never quite as good as one for the entire meal. The servers were scruffy not appropriate for such a lovely building.Overall it was OK but could have been superb with more attention to some details.

Booked the spa for a family birthday and we were really impressed with the ambience, it is beautiful and we would definitely return. Just a few things that let it down for us. The pool was just too cold to stay in so we only spent about 15 minutes in it. The jacuzzi is lovely and hot but is popular so it gets quite full and theres not always space. The sauna was luke warm and when we found some water to put on the coals there was no reaction as they were not hot. We ordered 3 strawberry smoothies but when they came they were more like a small glass of cordial and there was no fruit in at all, they were definitely not smoothies. Lastly it would be nice if there was an area with plugs for ladies to do their hair. I took a heated tong which I always use but there was nowhere to plug in, so went to dinner feeling a mess. Apart from this it is a beautiful spa and we would return and hopefully issues will be addressed.

Outstanding in all respects. Fabulous food served in a beautiful environment. Warm welcome on arrival, attentive service, lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Pricey but worth it.

What a superb place. Middleton lodge is a lovely place to visit. We ate lunch outside, but under cover under a canopy. Food was excellent and I would certainly visit if you are nearby. Staff are lovely.

We had an excellent meal, & service to match this visit (the latter not so good on a previous occasion). The Coach House Restaurant is beautifully styled, as is the rest of the estate (a gorgeous new spa has been added since we last came). Food was superb across the board, the menu a shortish list of creative, modern dishes, with good use made of the kitchen garden (which is lovely to walk around).

Very friendly service in a really lovely setting. We had a full English breakfast, the quality of the produce was excellent and the bacon was particularly good. Dogs are allowed in the snug area and our beagle was made very welcome. Thank you!

Had both brunch and a roast here, was excellent. We sat outdoors under the tent, it was a lovely venue with exquisite grounds.For brunch we had BLT on brioche, Scotch pancakes with two lattes. Both were really tasty and good sized portions.We both ordered the beef roast with all the trimmings, it did not disappoint

We keep returning for breakfast as it is so rare for us to find every single aspect of the experience, exceptional. Service and ambience amazing but from the yoghurt to the sausage sandwiches to the best toast and marmalade, it is always amazing. Simple pleasures made perfect. Well done Middleton Lodge

We met up with family 5/7/23 in the Gin Terrace which is Dog friendly we had a nice pizza and rosemary chips , Champagne here is £14 a glass, it is in a lovely setting. The following day we attended my husband's brother's wedding , the staff worked very hard , especially the waitresses taking canapes around! Supper was delicious and Fig House was beautiful , if we visit the area again we would hope to have supper again ( the only negative is for us that dogs cannot go in main restaurant, but we respect not everyone wants that! ) Shame we were not around the " mission impossible" time that would have been "fab"

Lovely place, with lots going on (wedding in another building, other dining rooms, drinks outside). Food was lovely, service was polite and friendly but something was going wrong between ordering drinks and receiving them. Half an hour before 1st drinks arrived, so no charge. Then ran out of the beer I was drinking (black sheep ipa , although the receipt says Estrella) and my wife's drink when asked if she would like sparkling or flat cherry blossom cordial , chose sparkling but received flat.We would still go though, mistakes happen.
