Fab location , stayed in camper van.
Food again was below average.
Went for 3 meats Sunday dinner , luke warm. Only Beef & Gammon on the plate, 3rd meat was missing. Veg was minimal and we asked for more gravy that didnt come.

Fantastic area but we got no service at the bar. They were too busy at the back so we left.

Attended last year as part of the 2cv Tan Hill Raid for pre-booked pie & peas at £10 per head. I gave mine back and took the refund. The portions were measly. £ 2.50 pence would have sufficed.
Otherwise, it's a lovely pub in beautiful surroundings.

Such a shame that the Tan Hill seems to be going downhill after our last visit 2 years ago. We visited on a Sunday in August and unfortunately had an awful experience. We were shown to our table and went to the bar to order Sunday lunch. After an hours wait we asked if our food would be long, we were told 5 minutes. After almost another half an hour wait we were finally given our food which was ridiculously delayed due to staff not putting the order through to the kitchen. Restaurant was extremely warm during this time so we were all hot and bothered so quickly ate and left. The Sunday lunch was nothing spectacular and also very small portion sizes. Like others have said it is more of a tourist attraction these days and unfortunately customer service and food quality has appeared to suffer.

Nice food, pies and Yorkshire puddings especially. Warm fire, nice surroundings and a fantastic drive to get there.

A friendly, welcoming pub. Superb food -- try the giant Yorkshire pudding! We've visited every time we come to this part of the country and it has never disappointed. The sunsets from the back of the pub are breathtaking!

Wouldn't recommend a friend, the idea of a pub on the hills is nice but if this pub stood anywhere else I don't think it would've done that great. Food came fairly fast and was alright but a bit dry, some of the staff members were quite absent-minded, wouldn't be surprised if they were under influence (of alcohol or something else) or sleep deprived.
Decoration was nice though, bathrooms okay and to be fair and square it was the first pub in the UK without sticky tables.

A lovely 17th century pub, highest pub in England, over 17,000 ft above sea level, serving lovely food and beers

Excellent place to visit and to stay overnight. Comfortable rooms. Great staff and excellent food.
Just a word of caution, if you've not visited before be a bit careful on the roads. Narrow and blind, tight bends. Other than that highly recommend

Called in for a drink when out for a drive. What a quaint pub that is bigger than it looks!
Very welcoming with a real fire and fantastic views.

My wife and I just had a lovely lunch at the tan hill. The views really are stunning , but so was her steak and ale pie and my sirloin steak! Also, 3 gluten free beers on tap - almost unheard of. Superb. Thanks guys
