I bought my caravan in 2021 from leasure world york after 2 years the fridge no longer worked in the freezer compartment, a repair was carried out by a local company but still the fridges freezer compartment would not work properly, after getting the fridge manufacturer to agree to funding the repair they instructed me to take it back to where it was purchased and they would pay under warranty. So off to leasure world york I go in November 2023, in december 2023 I phoned york to ask when I could collect my van and was told the engineer was off sick and nothing had been done, rang head office at catterick and was told not to worry as it would be transferred to catterick and the repair done by them, this they did and was in their care from December 8th, jan, no calls, feb no calls march I rang them left messages no call back, did manage to speak to a lady in service who promised to call back, did not happen, rang again and managed to get a nice young man from their Newcastle branch who chased it up for me and left a message on the service managers desk, guess what? No call back.Rang again and got hold of service only to be told the caravan had not been done nor would be, due to the intervention of some other company.4 months this had been going on for and no further ahead.I was informed that they were looking for a new fridge at a cost of £2000 that would be billed to me.I am in my 82nd year and in no mood to be dictated to by a company that puts profit before customer satisfaction. They were going to be recompensed by the fridge manufacturer but have not only lost the warranty reimbursement they have earned this scathing review.DON'T ALIENATE THE OLD FOLK THEY HAVE THE TIME AND PATIENCE TO FILL IN REVIEW FORMS.

We bought our caravan from here in April. At the time of purchase, Chris couldn?t have been more helpful. However, very disappointed with his level of service after the sale had gone through. Emailed him with a query on 4th July. His response ? I will look into this for you.? - Not a very professional email to send to a Customer? Where?s the Hello, Good Morning, Good Afternoon? I emailed again on 9th August asking for an update. We?re now on 13th September and still haven?t had an answer for him. Luckily I have sorted the problem myself ! Perhaps some customer service training needed?

On Friday 16th June I rang to see if there was an Elddis Crusader Aurora on site to view. I was told there was so we made the 60 mile round trip to check out this van which was on our shortlist. When we arrived we were unable to find the van anywhere. It turned out that we were misinformed and the van was actually at the Tyneside site. Nevertheless we spoke to the young salesman on duty that day and he asked for all the details of our current van which we were proposing to trade in. He took name, address, phone number, email, van details and promised to phone with a trade in estimate after speaking to someone more senior? No phone call arrived so the following Monday I Called again to get the quote. Apparently he was busy with a customer and again I was promised a call back, which again never came!Yesterday (August 4th) I again rang up to see if the van was on site and stressed that I would like someone to physically walk down the storage site and get ?eyes on? to confirm it?s presence before I made another pointless journey. I asked him not to take the computer stock data as correct which happened on the previous occasion. I was promised a call back to confirm if van was there or not. Again, for the 3rd time the call was not received.Having previously bought two new caravans from Catterick I usually give them a visit when changing vans but after this failure I doubt if I will be visiting them again. Looking back at other reviews, the failure to return customers calls seems to be a recurring complaint. If I were the owners of CC I would be very concerned that your staff are not carrying out the basic duties for which you are paying their wages, which is to follow up every possible sales lead.Basically I had a £35k budget to spend on a new van but on 3 occasions your staff couldn?t be bothered to do their job. But, Hey Ho, we move on. I am sure I will find a dealer who is more than willing to show some professionalism and help me find my next caravan.Update:- Within 30mins of posting this review I received a call from Gary, who said he was the manager of York branch. He offered sincere apologies for these events and as a goodwill gesture he promised to send me two complimentary tickets to the Harrogate holiday home show on September 9th and if we went along and introduced ourselves he would try and do us a ?good deal?. Unfortunately Gary, I never got the chance to hear what deal you may have offered as your promised tickets did not arrive! As a manager, this fail surpasses the previous ones. First rule of business:- Always do what you say you will. Return calls. Keep your promises. When I originally posted this review I was politely asked if I would remove it as negative reviews damage your business. To the owner, I would suggest that your employees are doing a splendid job on their own of damaging your business and do not need any help from the negative reviews you appear to get, commenting on their failings. If they cannot do the simple things competently people will not entrust them with large sums of their hard earned money

Called in today with a problem of marks on our motorhome paintwork. They couldn't have been more helpful. After 20 minutes with the valeter my vehicle was looking like new. Also they replaced a bulb for me before I left for my journey home. I will definitely call in again or order online from the huge stock of accessories. Excellent service from all concerned. Thank you

I contacted on line on Sunday about a caravan listed in stock and received a reply by phone and was told I would be called back in 1/2 hour. 2 days later, having heard nothing further, I followed up and was told by a different sales man "I will see what I can do", its now about 36 hours later and no contact again. If I can't get service when trying to buy ( £29k cash purchase with no part ex) makes me wonder what after sales service would be like!

If you cherish your sanity and money, DO NOT SHOP HERE!!Last year after much discussion with ?Alan? we purchased an air awning for around £1500.We explained the purpose we were using it for and he happily sold us it.A few months down the line I noticed severe fading on said Awning.I popped back to Catterick Caravans and spoke with Alan once again. He explained this was a known issue with this manufacturer, then proceeded to explain how different awnings are ?dipped? and basically said our awning was a rubbish brand. He didn?t mention this when we purchased the awning!I stewed on this for a couple of months as we had packed the awning up for the season.I then approached the manufacturer direct who said they would inspect the awning free of charge, great I thought? When I drop the awning off at Catterick Caravans I once again spoke with Alan.He then explained that this awning is not suitable for the purpose we are using for?seasonal pitch use. So despite us telling him we were using it seasonally when we first bought it he sold us it anyway.Fast forward a couple of weeks and the manufacturer has inspected the awning, not used for the purpose intended they say. Get the awning back and there is now a hole in the roof, which wasn?t there when we packed it away at the end of the season.Numerous phone calls and emails with ?Adrian?, who by the way needs to learn how to speak to customers. He is the most arrogant, patronising person we have ever dealt with. Still no further forward. I?ve emailed the directors but no response.Adrian promised one of the directors would call us, this hasn?t happened either. We are now left with an awning that we?ve been told if we continue to use, the fabric will fade further and the material will weaken. The manufacturer have offered us a good discount on an ?all season? awning but after spending £1500 on this on a year ago it?s a bitter pill to swallow, especially when we?ve done nothing wrong. The worst company I?ve ever dealt with, no customer service at all. They pride themselves on this apparently?an absolute joke of a company? if you buy anything from these guys and have a problem, you are on your own. This is absolutely a ?true reflection? of what happened. The fact they?ve said this and still not addressed the issue calls in to question the ethics of this business. When Alan was questioned on whether he remembered selling us this, he couldn?t remember.Which is fine, however if he had done his job properly and listened to us, he should have known this wasn?t suitable for us. He would have then recommended we don?t buy it. If this happened and we still bought it, that would stick in his mind.

I took my motorhome here with a problem with my boiler. They could look at it very quickly, a matter of days when their competitors were taking weeks for appointments. After investigation, they charged me £144 to tell me I needed a new boiler. This was going to cost £2,100 plus a further £200 - £300 for fitting. I took my motorhome to a very nearby caravan repair shop for a 'second opinion' and eventually had the boiler fixed (just a replacement combustion fan) for under £500. I've got to question the competence of the engineering team here and possibly the integrity of the commercial management. I won't be going back here again.

Brilliant service - knowledge, patient, helpful, and curious! We arrived as complete newbies so it felt quite daunting entering the massive site though we needn?t have worried Chris at Leisure World Caterick was amazing! He is extremely knowledge, patient, helpful, and through his genuine curiosity we managed to find what we wanted, which was a surprise as we really didn?t know ourselves! The handover for our new caravan was well-paced and thorough; he was even great with our dog!

We have just sold our caravan and went in on Tuesday to look at new Burstner motorhomes. Couldn't find anyone to talk to, one salesman was busy with handover. Someone let us in to a Burstner outside but didn't come back, we looked around but then left without any more conversation??

Wonderful service in the parts store, thanks to the amazingly helpful and knowledgeable Amanda ? We needed a part for our (now obsolete) caravan and she was a fount of information about what it was, who manufactured the part and where to obtain a replacement. Nice to report such wonderful customer service in an era when it's so rare.
