Very near to the wedding venue our friends were getting married at.Very nice room for reasonable cost. We did have flickering light which they didn't have time to sort. The swimming pool was lovely and included. The breakfast was expensive so we went across the roundtable to the Scotch Corner services and got breakfast there instead. It was nice to be able to connect my tablet to the TV and watch something for a bit while we relaxed.

Nice inside, not what you would expect. Good standard throughout and decent rooms.The pool is only 14 meters long, the saunas are good but the cold shower doesn't work, there wasn't and drinking water in the pool area and there wasn't a kit dryer in the changing area.The gym was OK.

I have stayed at IHG hotels on a regular basis with my work which is the reason I selected this hotel when I moved to the Darlington area for a period with work.Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet the high standard of IHG hotels I have experienced previously and I was disappointed from the first week.In the first week there was a problem with the local drains because of the extreme weather and the hotel smelled very bad as soon as you entered the reception. This smell was particularly strong in the room I was given and I complained immediately. Because of the location of the hotel which is right next to a major road, it is always busy with traveler?s and so I could not get a different room and I slept with the window open for a week. It was February and so the outside temperature was around zero which did not help the comfort in the room with the window open.The rooms and hotel are very worn out, with frayed carpets, damaged furnishings which is well overdue a refurbishment programme.The majority of staff were ok but I also believe that there is room for improvement for some people who work there.Would I stay again? The simple answer is no because after 3 weeks I moved out because of the reasons in this review.

Overnight stay on way north. Dog friendly, we were able to have a meal in the bar. Includes use of the leisure facilities too and loads of parking spaces.

Just popped in for a coffee while charging the car. £4.00 is far too much for a, decidedly average, coffee. Lounge needs a good clean too - look at how dusty the hanging lights are.Food & drinks: Expensive and poor quality.
