A highlight of bringing my family on a visit to Redcar was to come to O'Gradys restaurant for a Saturday night meal. Eight of us all agreed it was a huge success. The staff, the home cooked meals we were served and the prices, they all earned five stars. From booking on the phone onwards they were welcoming. A great atmosphere in this traditional Irish themed pub- hotel is helped by authentic vintage lighting, plenty of it, and the many curios and cheeky messages and pictures on the walls and doors .... even in the loos! Loved the experience and particularly the food. Mushroom Stroganoff (for vegans/veggies) was super tasty. The burgers, fish dishes, fat tasty chips followed by yummy desserts like Oreo Sundae for the children - everything was perfect for us. Thank you O'Gradys. Daria looked after us very well and so did the bar staff.

Went to celebrate a birthday. Asked how the food was, gave honest feedback...lasagne had no mince in and was dry. The mince and dumplings: dumplings were hard/inedible and little mince with not much flavour. The rest of the party enjoyed their chosen dishes. We were asked if we wanted a replacement but we were a bit put off so didn't bother. With the kids meal, we weren't given the ice cream or the cordial that comes with it. When paying the bill asked if the cost of lasagne could be took off, was told that because the 'chef' julie had offered to replace it then they couldn't take it off the bill. My family are well known and visit often and usually have no complaints so this was disappointing ?
*EDIT to respond - I'm not sure if you have us confused with another party. There was no abusive language used. We were very respectful to staff. We responded when we were asked how the food was, in a lighthearted way. When the cost of the food couldn't be took off the bill, we said no bother and just that we'd mention it to you should we return one day. We actually said that the rest of the food was OK to the waitress, it was just those other dishes as mentioned above. Not sure what version of these events you have been told.
