We stayed at the Cayley Arms for 1 night in the Stag room of the hotel and the renovations performed on the original building are nothing less than spectacular. From the bathroom details and the little things like sleeping masks and earplugs for light sleepers, nothing was left out. Our evening meal was served piping hot on warm plates, the pictures speak for themselves to presentation and quality of products. We slept so well in the quiet room above the little stream at the back of the Inn and the following morning we were presented with an outstanding full English breakfast. Thank you so very much for your hospitality and service Becky and Tim, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend your hotel. ??????

Stopped off when driving by, didn't book, but luckily had a table for 2 available. Had a lovely Sunday roast each. It's probably one of the best I've had. The service was very friendly. Was a lovely pub. Will definitely go again.

While passing through Pickering on a bitterly cold December night, I chanced upon The Cayley Arms. The charming atmosphere, coupled with attentive staff and delicious cuisine, made my visit truly enjoyable. The menu offered a good range of options, and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. I opted for the home cooked pie with a beautifully prepaired side of veg; an ideal choice for the cold road weary traveller. The cosy ambience and friendly service added to the overall positive impression. I highly recommend The Cayley Arms for a delightful dining experience in Pickering. So much more than just a great pub dinner.

Had a couple of Sunday meals and truthfully could not fault anything on the plates. Pure quality and cooked to perfection. Service as it should be from a very warm welcoming staff. Clean and cosy. This has to be one of the best in North Yorkshire. Thanks for everything. Worth every penny

Best roast beef we have had in any restaurant. Good sized portions making the price good value for money. It had been many years since visiting this venue and we were amazed at the transformation. We would highly recommend.

The service was great the food left a little to be desired I started with the Mac and cheese starter which was relatively bland and often felt I was just eating pasta. The main course was steak and ale pie which was a very good portion but it felt as though the pie was cooked separately from the steak and then added after the fact, the steak was quite dry and I'd have liked more than a thimble full of gravy. The dessert I chose profiteroles, I appreciate it's homemade but for the price and how simple they are I'd have expected more than 4.Overall I believe some improvements could be made and a little more value for money.

We had the most fabulous stay at Craven Bungalow in Allerston, where the hosts insisted that we must eat at the Caley Arms, just a short pleasant walk through this picture postcard village to the end of the road. And what a recommendation it was! This pub must be the best in North Yorkshire. The Sunday dinner is the best I have ever eaten out. Generous home cooked food with a Michelin Star finish. My poor granny would be spinning in her box if she knew how highly I would rate this Sunday dinner over hers (God bless her). Becks and Tim gave such a warm friendly welcome that it felt more like a home coming than walking into a busy Yorkshire pub. It was so refreshing not to be tripping over soggy dogs blocking the way to the bar (thankfully no dogs allowed) or to have ill behaved kids shouting and screaming in the corners, it is so well run. The locals are a bit of a queer crowd. Well behaved, welcoming and friendly, but a bit strange if you know what I mean? But this just adds perfectly to the ambiance of this quaint and quintessentially "North Yorkshire" hidden treasure. 10/10. We can not wait until next time.

I had the feather blade beef and mash, oh my days, where to begin? One word needed, WOW. It was delicious, my partner had steak pie which was also as nice, proper chips.

We visited this pub for Sunday lunch whilst on holiday in the area. From the moment we arrived the landlord and landlady made us feel very welcome and comfortable . The food was excellent , the best roast dinner we have had in a long time, and the service was first class from every member of staff. We enjoyed the experience so much we returned midweek for another meal - pie night - which was just as good. We hope to return and would highly recommend.
