Lovely building, good host...didn't get full experience as we'd missed the fact that pub was closed and no food service in jan/Feb on the day we stayed, so no place to unwind after a days walking , only the bedroom.

Absolutely amazing Sunday lunch, beef was the best I'd ever had. Staff extremely attentive but without being intrusive and very friendly. Added bonus was its dog friendly.

We had dinner 4 of us, it was absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't fault it would highly recommend, we've rebooked for 11th February we loved it so much.

Lovely little pub, luckily we had booked! Staff welcoming and warm atmosphere. Both of us had the beef Sunday lunch and sticky toffee pudding for dessert - both gorgeous. Would definitely recommend.

Just come back from our third stay in "The Black Swan" in Pickering.Cannot wait to go back again.We stay in pub, hotels etc on a regular basis, this is one of the best we stay in. Yes I have read the bad reviews, goodness me some people really need to travel/get out more.Rooms spotless, warm and cosy, (even the spooky one, lol)The staff and owners cant do enough to make your stay pleasurable.If you have any life changing problems like your beans at breakfast not to your liking, say so, I guarantee it will be sorted.Cannot praise enough.Go for a visit, you'll have a lovely time.MERRY CHRISTMAS. Xxxx

Booked for a meal on a Saturday night and despite it being extremely busy staff were very prompt, friendly and attentive. Liked the quirky decor and atmosphere.We both had pies and they were very tasty also selection of few different beers brewed on site was bonus! ? will be visiting again.

Excellent Hotel, we stayed for a weekend break, the room was first class, as were the fixtures and fittingsThe staff and owners were warm and welcoming nothing was too much trouble.The breakfasts were excellent as was the evening meal which we had on the day of our arrival.There was also excellent secure parking at the rear of the hotel.We would definitely recommend this hotel.Jill and Bob November 2023Noteworthy details: Good local products were used for meals, the beer was brewed in house and locally.
