A fantastic, healthy, friendly, and peaceful asset for any small town. Pickering Book Tree is a MUST visit for our family when we come back to town.The children feel at ease just popping in and reading through a few books downstairs, and I can comfortably browse throughout the store knowing that they?re relaxed and safe. So simple, but very well thought through planning of space to have the children?s zone downstairs by the staff, and to be welcoming and comfortable for them. I know it wouldn?t work for all children to be relatively unsupervised while the parent browses the rest of the store, but for many it is a great solution for small families. Thank you!We strongly recommend popping in here for all our guests in the cottage.The staff are lovely too - and knowledgable. Love the resident dog ?

Great independent book shop. Wonderful choice of children's books downstairs. Upstairs is huge, a great selection for teens and young adults.There's also a decent selection of artists' items.

Highly recommend this book shop, excellent selection of books, friendly and welcoming staff and just a great atmosphere in the shop. Could have browsed all day (although would have ended up with more than the two books I left with!). Looking forward to my next visit!

Great independent bookshop - a really wide range of books in stock, great recommendations from the very knowledgeable staff, happy to order books too. Also, love what they are doing in the local community and schools. Great addition to the town.

It's an absolute delight to have a dedicated bookshop in town, adding to Pickering's appeal. The shop has been sensitively refashioned, the choice of books is huge and attractive, and the staff knowledgeable.

This independent book shop is a fabulous recent addition to the high street in Pickering, repurposing the old wool shop.Fantastic sense of space and great range with plenty of eclectic stock, as well as good range of art supplies. The store goes upstairs, too. Caters for most tastes, but the Young Adult range was particularly noted on our visit!

A fantastic addition to the town. A wonderful little book shop, with an extensive collection of books for sale for all interests and ages. The children?s section in particular is a joy to look round (I don?t have any children, but it?s great to reminisce over timeless classics!). Warm, cosy, friendly and always welcoming. Book lover perfect.
