We have all been on our travels, and we have all had that 'feeling', when you walk into a strange place, in a strange town, and you don't get the warm welcome we wanted.
Well not in this club, you kind of expect the barman to be polite don't you, he wants you to spend money. But within an hour, I think everyone in the place had said hello, asked where we were from, where we were staying. And when we explained we were gonna be regulars, we felt like 'locals' instantly.
I'm a Yorkshire man born & bred, and the welcome in this establishment speaks volumes. We are very warm people.

Fabulous Sunday lunch ...impromptu visit ....we looked at the previous great tripadvisor reviews and thought The Crown looked like a pub we must visit ...following a beautiful walk with friends and our cocker spaniel puppy along the river towards Glasshouses...we called in and were not disappointed ....beautiful steak and ale pie and roast beef.....the cauliflower cheese was a delight and the chips fabulous.....very friendly and helpful staff...and the boys enjoyed a great pint ...would highly recommend! ?

Just had a delicious Sunday lunch here. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly and attentive. There was also a really nice atmosphere and good value for money too. Would definitely recommend.

On Saturday the 11th November we had a lovely meal. The service was excellent as was the food. All the staff looked after us well and we will definitely be going again.

Booked last minute for a group of 9 for Sunday lunch. Bit wary after some of the reviews but the service was brilliant and the food was delicious and plentiful. Wanted to try a dessert but didn't get past my main. Will have to order in reverse next time! Would definitely recommend and we will return next time we're in the area.

Some of the best food at reasonable prices we have ever tasted. Steak pie and the lasagna was amazing. Home cooked chips were great.

Went for Sunday lunch, roasties veg gravy Yorkshire pudding great !! But the Beef!! Don?t bother it?s straight out of a packet or just extremely overcooked and thin. I suggest the Crown omits the beef if it comes like that every week. My friend had the Moroccan Lamb, I really didn?t understand why lamb wasn?t on the Sunday lunch list of meats?? Just increase the price and serve a fabulous Sunday lunch.

I visited with a friend for lunch. The food was good, with suitable portion sizes and a fair price for the quality and quantity. The staff were friendly and attentive. We both said we would be back the next time we visit Pateley

Lovely lunch, large portions, reasonable prices, pleasant staff. Four of us plus our little dog enjoyed our stop over. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice place for lunch in Pateley Bridge.

Good and bad elements... Good - excellent food, huge portions. Bad - two members of staffs' attitude. They were rude, and incredibly unwelcoming, even groaning at us asking questions about the food. I got the impression they simply did not like customers (unless you are a friend). This is such a shame because the building, location and food make it a great pub. Shame about the staff. I'm really glad I wasn't staying there!

This is the first pub I have ever got up and left having not finished my drink. I have never experienced such a rude member of staff, let alone Landlady. I am actually gobsmacked at the attitude and lack of customer service. I am not sure if she doesn?t like visitors, children or is just plain rude but she?s certainly in the wrong business. Do not visit if you want a warm welcome.
