Can always get a table here and it's nice just to sit and have a chat and coffee. Unfortunately I've never been tempted to eat here. In fairness I've not tried the hot food that's available because I don't find the sandwiches etc appetising.

Really expensive will take sandwiches and a flask next time. There's no bird garden and no penguins, the play area isn't finished .even the book shop has doubled the price of a book

The only positive is the staff were lovely. Unfortunately the food was below average, the jacket potato wasn't even cut open when served and the sandwich was very sloppy and unappetising. Waste of money. Wouldn't come come back here for lunch again. Didn't get any hot drinks so can't comment.

Hog roast flatbread more exciting than one would expect at a cafe at a historic house, though it could've done with a little more flavour. Though the one lady was trying hard to take our orders, it was some wait given there was only one of her and loads of customers (leading to a queue out the door, although it was a Sunday lunchtime). Cake had sold out too!

We ordered french fries, fried brie and the smokey grilled butternut. Fires are good, however we were very disappointed with the rest of the food. We would not recommend them at all, it is probably safer to stick with sandwiches.

The menu is small but caters well to a range of requirements including soup and jacket potatoes, sandwiches, loaded flat breads and a kids menu. The vegan loaded flatbread was tasty, decent especially for a tourist site, pricey though at around £12. The chips were standout! As well as price the other detractor was the very long wait for coffee and food. Thankfully at least whilst waiting for food we were sat at a table, standing around waiting for coffee wasn?t so good. The for seating setting is lovely with lots of outdoor space.
