Nice simple elegant and tasty food, the pork was beautifully cooked, not tough at all with a lovely mushroom sauce. Melt in the mouth squid for a starter, for my personal taste, I'd have made it slightly less peppery, but it was called salt and pepper squid! ?. The staff were all lovely and attentive (as has been the case from everyone at the hotel) and whilst the restaurant was full, it didn't seem crowded or noisy. Only disappointment is I'm not staying long enough to try out the pizzas cooked in the pizza oven on the veranda, they look amazing.

We were looking forward to dining at the Clocktower restaurant after my wife received a gift voucher for her birthday last year as we had never been before, however, we were very disappointed during our visit today??
The food was OK but very pricey, which might have been mitigated if it was matched by perfect service, but unfortunately it was not!
We started our meal with a delicious anti pasties sharing plate (Lishman's cured meats, foccacia, cheese, pickles, chutney), however, it took a long time before our platter was cleared after we finished despite a lot of serving staff around, most of whom were too busy chatting!
I had the sole mueniere with a side portion of herb new potatoes for my main course, which was very good. My wife ordered the pork cutlet with bearnaise sauce with a side of herb new potatoes. Our waitress said it didn't come with any sides when we ordered, however, the dish actually came with a side of fries! The dish was also missing the bearnaise sauce, which my wife had to ask for.
One side portion of potatoes was large enough for both of us and we would have liked to have been informed when we ordered as we ended up taking home the spare portion in a doggy bag.
Whilst we were waiting for our main courses we noticed that a couple on the next table received a sandwich for one person 5 minutes before they received a salad for the other person, which we would find unacceptable as we would want both our plates to be delivered at the same time.
It took a long time again for our main course plates to be cleared by staff after we finished.
My wife had the Black Forest chocolate mousse with a latte for her desert. I ordered the panna cotta & strawberries with a pot of tea and I was extremely disappointed that I had been charged £11 for a very underwhelming small portion of panna cotta with a few strawberries on a large plate!
We were so unhappy with the poor service received that I asked for the discretionary 10% service charge to be removed for our final bill of £130 and it's very unlikely that we will return to dine at the restaurant again??

We booked for my mum's birthday as she wanted to go. After booking I read the reviews and wondered what we'd let ourselves in for. Pleasantly surprised. Service was very attentive if slightly disorganised at times. Drinks always took a bit too long to arrive. Mains took too long as well but it was a busy Sat night. Lovely atmosphere, dining room was a bit too cold - my mum had to sit with her coat on!
Menu is very simple indeed but food was good. I had beetroot starter, lamb main and chocolate mousse pudding. All tasty.
If you are a party of 4 definitely join the foodies club for 50 quid - will get 25% off your bill and it will more than pay for itself. Without it the prices are too high for what it is.

Had breakfast and dinner here, both good experiences, the staff are particularly wonderful. Food quite pricey and not the biggest portions but ok when it?s included in your hotel package. Clocktower feels much nicer when dining alone as it?s more formal and quiet

Been to Rudding loads but not to the Clocktower before. We had a charity raffle voucher and booked in for lunch.
Very friendly staff and prompt service throughout. Food was tasty, squid and truffle quavers, squash tortellini and meatball linguine then treacle tart and crème brûlée. Everything was tasty and well presented, the puddings were the stars of the show.
Lots of staff and maybe too many looking after us which can confuse them. Can?t fault our visit though, was fun and tasty.

We were bought a £100 voucher for our wedding which we used at the clocktower restaurant. Easy to book and the food and service at the restaurant was lovely however when it came to paying the bill, we gave the server our voucher and the card machine wasn?t working so I had to go up to the till to pay. A different person took the remaining payment and we left, when we got home we had been charged the full amount and the £100 hadn?t been taken off the bill.
My husband rang rudding park multiple times to get this refunded and eventually it took 10 days to get this back, after spending to many different people.
Always make sure you check before you pay!!

Been twice in the last week due to various engagements. First was my partners birthday dinner with family. Drinks took ages to arrive and when glasses were empty no further drinks offered until I asked. Food was great. I?d arranged a ?birthday plate? to arrive for him which was bought to the table in a very casual manner ?is it someone?s birthday? and plonked down in front of him. No candle, no special effort made which was disappointing for such a big occasion when I?d called up to request it in advance. Second was a business lunch a few days later. Ordered 4 drinks (2 soft drinks and 2 beers) and half an hour later (and starters finished) still no drinks arrived. Ordered Caesar salad for main with anchovies, they forgot the anchovies so had to bring them separately on a plate. Staff and food are always lovely but I?ve found service levels have fallen a lot recently for somewhere that prides itself on being ?Award Winning AA 4 red star?)
