A superb dining experience from start to finish - from initial greeting at the main gate to a very warm welcome at the hotel entrance. The hotel is really beautiful and the staff are incredibly polite, professional and friendly. We chose Fletchers Restaurant for our evening meal and the food was absolutely incredible!!! The staff ensured that our evening was a very special one and indeed, nothing was too much trouble for them. We came away feeling that we had received amazing value and will definitely be back for more!!! Many thanks.

Sat outside as it was a beautiful day..food was okay but nothing to run back for ..
It has lovely surroundings and the staff are very pleasant.. and very helpful.
Seating areas outside just need a little more attention as they were dirty.

On a hot day, has the most blissful atmosphere, champagne was flowing, the service, cleanliness and scene being set was first class.
The food however was disappointing, so bland. Would be great for older people who don?t like loads of spice or weird flavours though, but like quality. However, I did find the food boring. I ordered some favourites of mine like scallops and salmon, but they didn?t taste of a whole lot. For the price I like to be blown away when it comes to flavour. It is Worth it to sit out on that terrace on a hot day though, but don?t expect your best meal on earth.

This is a impressive old building standing in immaculatey kept grounds. There are a range of restaurants holding AA rosettes up to Michelin star awards. We had lunch in Fletchers restaurant where the food and service was first class.

A return to one of the best hotels in the UK. Staff are all exemplary who are thinking ahead of what you might want next. Lovely to chat with the general manager and see where the enthusiasm all the staff have has come from. Lots of lovely added value touches that make you feel luke the only guests in this wonderful hotel.

This was a return visit to Grantley Hall, our previous one being to Shaun Rankin's restaurant. The weather on our recent visit was awful - cold, windy and heavy rain but it was a haven of comfort the moment that we stepped through the door at Grantley. The meal was lovely but my husband wished that he had chosen the pheasant which I had rather than the mushroom risotto. The service was impeccable and the whole dining experience was so enjoyable that we intend returning.

The starter and dessert were very good but the main course - both my wife and I had the halibut - was disappointing! It was very salty and over cooked/dry! When we complained about this we were offered desserts on the house, which was a nice gesture. Whilst enjoying a glass of prosecco in the bar before dinner we felt rather abandoned, as staff were passing us by and we weren't offered a menu to peruse. When booking I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday but there was no recognition of this, which was disappointing. All in all a very disappointing ... and costly ... experience!!

Nice relaxing place for dinner with a good menu, but our dishes were somewhat disappointing

As always the service and food at Fletchers was exceptional on our recent visit. The staff were without exception attentive, professional and friendly. Each plate of food came in perfect timing, despite two of our party of 4 having the 4 course set menu. All beautifully cooked and presented. Even the coffees at the end were noticeably better quality and came with a lovely homemade shortbread - little touches like this are much appreciated. Well done all - a slick and well- managed team.

One dreadful experience never to be repeated. I could go on for ever about this restaurant of how bad it was and at an very expensive rate for a ok meal. But I won't because I have better things to do. But the worst is when things go wrong they cannot be bothered to contact you to find out why.

We went to Grantley Hall for lunch at Fletcher's Restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was lovely and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We chose the set menu and opted for the wines recommended to go with it. This didn't include a desert wine. I asked the waiter what would go with the desert and as my husband had decided against the set menu desert in favour of cheese I asked about a port. The menu brought didn't include port by the glass but did have dry sherry by the glass. At the end of the meal I told the waiter that whilst the desert wine options were good, that they hadn't gone with the food. It was at this point that things went fiwnhill. Another diner took it upon himself to butt in to contradict me saying that I was wrong about the menu not having port and he had goodness knows how many years of Michelin star experience so I was wrong and he was right. Four other diners in the restaurant witnessed the whole sorry episode of me standing my ground. Whilst the food and staff were great the overall experience was awful. I know that the venue and staff have no control over the standard of guests but this was an awful experience. The other guest so obviously felt he was superior to and knew better than the rest of us that he had to make a show of it. Just because he had a flashy car and a foreign companion didn't make him the arbiter of what was right for us. This experience ruined our day. When eating our starter I had expressed the wish to go back to the hotel to stay but if that's an example of the sort of other clientele we can expect I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. So sorry to have had to write this but my day that started so well has ended in misery.
