I would highly recommend Optical Express Middlesbrough.Prior Surgery: The staff, Dan, Debbie and Mandy were brilliant and friendly. They provided an excellent customer service. The consultant, Alan was amazing, and explained the full procedure.Post Surgery: I have clear vision and follow up appointments showed the surgery went well. I look forward to the future now.

The most appalling service with cancelled appointments, no new appointment confirmations sent out and a complete refusal to help on the phone. If this standard of care is reflective of their entire service I am very glad to have treatment elsewhere. I recommend everyone else so the same.

Not a good experience for me, my first lasik surgery didn?t work. Six months later I had laser surgery,six months later I?m still seeing the optician as I?m still not quite 20/20 vision. I?m using eye drops 4 + times a day, my eyes feel very dry and gritty when I?m anywhere that?s got heating or air conditioning on, this also affects me when driving. I know our bodies all heal differently, but for me it?s not the outcome I expected when I had my first surgery done in January 2022.

3 month appointment today. I am very happy. Night driving vision has improved 100% My vision is spot on. The only thing I can negatively say is I have to wear sun glasses while driving as the sun is bit to bright. Thank you to all the staff at optical express. You are fantastic.

I wanted to say a massive thank you to the staff at Optical Express at Middlesbrough, mainly Mandy, Jade and Alan.From start to finish my process was professional seamless and very informative.Having lens replacement surgery is a massive thing for me and I have wanted it done for years!The above named staff have been amicable, kind and supportive throughout my time with them, from consultations, treatment and I?m now in my aftercare, and I cannot thank you enough for your patience, answering my questions, and been very helpful!I would highly recommend this place for any eye treatment, I look forward to seeing you soon for my follow up!Thank you again x

I had laser eye treatment arranged through the Middlesbrough branch, I had the treatment carried out at the Newcastle branch in February 2020. They guaranteed 20/20 vision. However four months down the line after surgery my eyes are far from that figure. I struggle to focus my vision now, see double lights in the dark when driving, have constant uncomfortable eyes that are always now bloodshot. "Just" meet the car driving standard for vision. I never had any of these symptoms pre surgery and wish that I had never had the procedure carried out.I now need to wear glasses for driving large vehicles to meet the required vision standards...I feel let down by the "aftercare plan". I have been told by optical express clinical services to take cod liver oil tablets to help lubricate my eyes, use hot compresses over my eyes, use lubricating eye drops several times a day, do eye exercises etc etc. I never had any problems with my eyes before the laser treatment.I have asked for a refund but nobody seems to want to discuss that in optical express. My optometrist said "head office deal with them". I have tried to talk to "head office " but they just keep stating that they are investigating my case.I would recommend not having the procedure done to anyone considering it. A lot of money wasted totally and my eyes still need glasses to get 20/20 vision.The staff at shop level are very helpful at Middlesbrough but it seems to fall on deaf ears above shop level....

A week ago a screw fell out of my 5 month old glasses,I was very unhappy. I phoned the store when it reopened, I was told everything was appointment based because of covid, I suggested they popped a screw in an envelope and stuck it on their door and I would pick it up. The lady said that she would post me some and I would need to get a small screwdriver. A few days later I received a jiffy envelope with 6 or more screws and a wonderful little multi-tool screwdriver keyring. This is what customer service used to be like many years ago , im delighted to see that some companies or individuals still exhibit this. BTW there was no signed "with compliments" slip in envelope, which was also refreshing as usually it means someone wants a pat on the back for doing something reasonable.
