We went here twice over the weekend once for drink and then meal . It?s great to see a village pub still going , which appears to service the locals well , which is vital to keep it going. It?s a basic pub with tired looking furniture, annoying screens and sports on quite loud . We ordered curry one night and it was the worse meal I have had. My husband did not like the curry either. Shame as we like to support small business pubs. But sadly we would not recommend to our friends. I had to clean both glasses I was drinking out of too . Fish n chip shop in the village was better food. Great local village pub though for locals though.

Went here with a few mates to watch the football and have a few drinks, we were camping nearby on holiday and just wanted to have a good time. Walked in and got stared at consistently. We barely had a chance to sit down and settle when the owner came up to us immediately and rudely telling us we have to order a drink. So me and 1 of my mates trying to be friendly said ok and we bought a drink despite being rushed. 2 of my other mates who were in the middle of a darts game were also interrupted again a few minutes later telling them they have to order a drink. They were going to order a drink after finishing their game. Again being interrupted rudely. My friend then went to order a drink ( despite being £5.80 for a beer). Then when we had our drinks the owner was continuing to stare and gossip about us making us feel very uncomfortable. Especially being an ethnic minority we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. I wouldn't recommend. Maybe if you aren't an ethnic minority you might find it okay. If you are then don't bother ?

Went into this pub to watch football. Got stared at by the owner as soon as we arrived. They made us very uncomfortable by saying rude comments and pressuring us all to drink alcohol which was expensive (£5.80 per pint??) and due to some of us being of a minority felt very unwelcome there . I have been to many pubs in my days and never felt so alienated and uncomfortable.

Great place lovely staff dog friendly and have the sweetheart of a waitress who?s only 13 who works so hard to please the customers and make them laugh the landlord doesn?t care who you are and treats you like he?s known you for years it?s amazing so cozy

We went in Sunday evening after being at the Harrogate Flower Show at Newby Hall. They don't normally serve food on a Sunday night but the owners wife said she would do us anything off the main menu other than the curry. My wife and I both ordered the Sausage & Mash and it was magnificent. The best Sausage and Mash I've ever had. They didn't need to do it, most places would have said no, and that would be that, but no, they made us both the best meal we've had in ages. Definatley 5 stars, oh, and the Timothy Taylors Landlord was perfect too...???

No vegetarian options.Goldfish kept in small tank with no filtration the only thing cleaner then its water were the seats and they were terrible. Table horribly sticky.Only stayed for one drink which was standard.
