The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We used them for our evening meals. Very good with allergy information. Would definitely recommend. Make sure you book.

Stopped off for a nice, cold pint from a lovely walk at Aysgarth Falls which is close by and the place is lovely! Really nice beer garden out the front located in a beautiful village! Good choice of beers and friendly people ?

A typical country pub/hotel in Leyburn. We called in for lunch after visiting Castle Bolton. We ate in the bar, which was full but the restaurant looked lovely, see photos. The lounge in the hotel part also looked beautiful. Very friendly staff, however, I've dropped it down after star as the food could have been better. Thd chips were great, crunchy outside and fluffy inside but the vegetable lasagne appeared to be onions, peppers, 1 small piece of courgette and i think some sweet potato with a sheet of pasta then grated, melted cheese. Basically it lacked any taste. There didn't appear to be any bechamel sauce and I'm guessing the cheese was mild. My partner had the cheese and onion melt which he did enjoy but it was basically melted cheese with chopped raw red onion sprinkled ontop.

Classic pub grub. Can't go wrong with some gammon and chips. Lovely vibe, lovely staff and most importantly, affordable! I will be stopping here for a pint when i am passing through the dales next.?

Always stay here when we in North Yorkshire. Lovely rooms, lovely people, very friendly and good food. Nice walk to Aysgarth Falls through fields opposite.

My wife and I spent three nights at the Wheasheaf. We enjoyed every moment, from the time we arrived to the day we left.
Friendly staff and lovely food, promptly served. The annex in which we stayed had a large fridge, cooker, and microwave oven.
The bathroom was spacious, and had a large walk-in shower with a high toilet, ideal as my wife had recently had a new knee fitted. We will definately be staying there again.

I stayed a few nights in the annexe. It was great, a ground floor room with its own entrance from the car park, and a lounge/kitchen. Both breakfast and dinner in the pub were very nice. I would stay again and recommend it. It?s in a pretty village, a perfect spot for seeing the Yorkshire Dales. Minor irritation was that several local kids were riding bikes around the car park and right across glass entrance doors to annexe in the evenings affecting privacy.

Exceptional service at the Wheatsheaf this weekend. 7 in our group couldn't have been better catered for from breakfast, which was more slick than most larger hotels, to our evening meal. Food excellent. Obviously the hotel can't do anything about outside (road) noises but apart from that it was an excellent weekend.

Stumbled upon this pub during a hike from Aysgarth Falls to Bolton Castle and loved it so much we went back for dinner. Warm, inviting staff, who kindly offered us dinner before the kitchen opened. My husband had a delicious locally-sourced bangers and mash and I a curry. Both excellent!!

Still has old world charm, good value meals, a fine vegetarian choice and helpful staff.

Booked a 1 night stay at short notice as part of a quick dales trip. Friendly hotel with wonderful service from staff who work hard to look after you. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was wonderful, the pie hits the spot as brilliant comfort food. Breakfast was hearty with lots of choice.
Room was small but was advertised as such, the ensuite was a bit tight for my 6ft frame but perfectly functional.
The test is, would we go back? and without hesitation the answer is yes !
