Out walking & found by chance this venue. Popped in for a pint & decided to stay for some lunch. Lunch was well presented & tasty. Staff were helpful and friendly with the whole visit being a positive experience. We?ll pop back when next in area.

Food & drinks: Sunday lunch, the Inn was crammed full of locals and walkers having a drink and some waiting for Sunday Lunches. Rather crammed but meals fantastic. Gents toilets outside which my husband found a trek but heyho lovely day out.

Called in for food as we are staying in the car park in our van. What a gem of a pub, staff ever so friendly, reasonably price drinks (soft & non alcoholic- dry January). And such a great selection of cask ales too.Food was spot on, lasagne & steak pie, and I mean very nice, chips were like chip shop chips.Very busy, think it was the land lady, run off her feet changing kegs, 4 in the hour we were there and all with a smile and whilst checking on the customers. When we are back out this way, we'll be calling back in.

The best home made food! We had a cheese soufflé and steak pies, both absolutely delicious, sadly no room for a pudding. Also it?s the friendliest pub, the locals all chatted to us and even gave us some pheasant breasts to take home foc. Proper unspoilt pub with roaring log fire so do not expect farrow and ball makeover, but all the better for it in our opinion (and believe me we have been in a lot of made over pubs!)

I have been a regular visitor to this Pub since the mid nineties and it has become one of my favourite places to dine. The owners past & present have always delivered a high standard of hospitality and brilliant service. The food is always great value for money. My only suggestion is to add Hunters Chicken to the menu. When the opportunity comes I always recommend the Cover Bridge to visitors to the area.

A fantastic pub that hasboth warm, friendly staff and environment. A very traditional feel, friendly patrons and good food. The only downside is the road adjacent with poor visibility for cars and the car park located across from the premises. Not an especially big deal but worth remembering when leaving.

I have never stayed here so I will not comment about the accommodation. The pub is rustic and that is part of the charm. I have visited numerous times over the years and I was worried about the change of ownership. I am glad that my fears were unfounded and the current landlord keeps his ales in tip-top condition. My last visit encountered a new member of staff, obviously her first or second shift and supported by the owners did an admiral job. I wish I knew her name as she was worthy of recognition. All I can say is she was working the close, I think Tuesday

Six of us called in for a couple of drinks on a walk from Middleham. Lovely welcome from delightfully friendly staff and perfect pints of Timothy Taylors Landlord. Serious food envy seeing the party alongside us being served with pies, sausages, fish and chips etc though we only intended to stop for a drink (several tables were booked for a wake and the lady behind the bar apologised that the kitchen would already be too busy to offer us lunch). A truly lovely little pub!

Stopped for lunch. Good portions at a reasonable price. Depending on time of year, you may need to book.
