Stopped for pint whilst visiting the market place. Small but decent selection of drinks. Old traditional quirky interior. Seemed a nice place.

Never again..... dropped in at 4pm to see if they were serving food and we were told 6pm no mention of booking a table.Arrived back at 6 and after being told all the tables were booked , we quite happily sat in the beer garden ordered our meals at just before 6pm when food started, still waiting 50 mins later, which wouldn't have been so bad, but when we got it very disappointed, sausages tasteless, peas and carrots obviously from a frozen mixed bag and gravy like water , the only saving grace was the steak and kidney pudding my husband had. The staff were nice enough though.

Decent Sunday lunch
Nice vegetables well seasoned liked the leeks in cheese sauce i think. and a nice Yorkshire pudding and tender beef

Everything was perfect the food, custom service and room however every time you flush the toilet or drain any water there was a loud deafening noise and it made it difficult to use the facilities

Stopped for 2 nights and yes the rooms are a little dated, will not appeal to everyone BUT it was incredibly clean! Always what we want most in staying away. A very old looking rustic pub. Staff really friendly. Ideal for a quick visit to Leyburn. Parking not a problem. Would recommend.

Just had some food which we were very last minute booking, however one of thr ladies behind the bar spoke to us on WhatsApp and was more then helpful and sorted us a last minute booking. The food was AMAZING! The steak was cooked to perfection and the garlic bread was amazing. Couldn't recommend the staff, food and premises enough ???? well done

Really nice location, ample parking around. Staff were really helpful and friendly. I only stayed one night but had a great sleep and was very comfortable

Popped in for a bit of lunch with my partner
I had the fish and chips and my partner had the gammon steak
Chips where tasteless and hard could not eat them
Fish was ok
Gammon steak was ok hard to tell if it was grease or a lot of liquid on the plate or both
We both had bad stomach later in the day felt sick
And there was no hand wash in the ladies toilet at all
Staff were friendly enough but the whole place could do with a face lift

A comfy pub with accommodation upstairs, the food is lovely and breakfast was made to order. This morning breakfast was busy so we did wait quite a long time.

Just had lunch here, had the hot beef sandwich with chips, sandwich was crammed with topside beef. Really lovely. Wife had the hot sauce chicken burger and loved it. Friends had cheese platter and prawn sandwich with Mary rose sauce. Everyone was very impressed with the quantity and quality of the food.
Great friendly staff and excellent service.. we will be coming back next time we are in this area. Thank you to the staff here.
