This is a small but perfectly formed farm shop and cafe. The food in the cafe is absolutely delicious, it's very reasonably priced and all the staff are friendly and helpful. There's a daily specials board and there's also a good choice of food, fresh produce and drinks in the farm shop, the flapjack and the steak pie are 2 of our favourites. The new outside seating area is a lovely place to sit and enjoy your meal on a warm day.

My friend, her daughter and I went to Springhouse at the weekend for Sunday lunch. We had a very friendly welcome as soon as we entered and that service continued throughout. The food was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The food was that lovely we had to take home some goodies from the shop!

Stumbled across this fantastic spot when ?googling? somewhere to meet with friends (who we hadn?t seen for 10 years) before they joined the magical polar express train. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, rearranging the cafe to fit us all in. Nothing was too much trouble regarding drinks or food, especially for the children. We were still there at closing time but still made us more hot drinks after closing the kitchen and didn?t move us on, even though staff had to stay back. This little spot is an absolute find! 100% would recommend.

Stopped off here for a quick sandwich to keep us going en route to the Yorkshire Dales. Really friendly and helpful staff, efficient service and delicious bacon butties, just what we needed. We approached from Northallerton, but this lovely cafe is a short and welcome detour off the A1 at Leeming Bar, if you?re needing a break.

Previously been here for coffee and cake so decided to try the Sunday lunch - big mistake ! Normally if the experience is good or bad I vent my spleen at the time credit where credit is due or negative feedback when appropriate. On this occasion I failed to express myself vociferously at the time maybe just world weary of the UK ! We chose the two course set Sunday lunch it came out plated up - meat was ok, gravy like dishwater, roasties and Yorkshire puddings clearly from a supermarket poverty range and bland vegetables. One of the three desserts was sold out so my wife opted for treacle tart as an alternative expecting it to be part of the deal however we were charged an extra £1.20 for the privilege. The tart was average and the custard was lumpy. I challenged this pathetic charge and the owner wasn?t budging so we will not return. We are fortunate enough to live in an area awash with eateries and don?t mind taking our custom elsewhere, even if that entails an hour in the car travelling. Coincidentally some friends of ours ate there the same day and had to endure the same farcical saga with the treacle tart. They will not return either so for the sake of £2.40 the business has lost five customers which in these difficult times is commercial suicide. Is it worth losing customers for such a paltry sum ?

Have bought fruit and veg here many times but never eaten in the cafe. So today me and hubby went breakfast. He had the full english and I had scrambled eggs on toast. My eggs were very nice. Hubby said full english was good but he would have prefered his bacon done a bit more. Service was good and the specials on the board all looked tasty.

We visited here a few days ago after reading some online reviews. When we pulled up in the car park there was a lovely outside seating area overlooking an orchard and open fields, very pretty. It was very welcoming when as we entered the cafe and deli and were shown to a table. The waitress gave us menus and told us about the specials board. We could see a variety of what looked like homemade cakes too ?Our orders for a Full English breakfast and a Prawn Marie Rose sandwich on white, with regular tea and Earl Grey tea were taken. I also asked for a fruit scone to be added to the order but as a takeaway. We would take it with us when we left. Yes, that was no problem. The waitress returned and asked if we would buy the scone from the deli when we paid on our way out as supplies were getting low in the cafe. That was fine with us.The signs in the cafe tell diners that they serve Yorkshire tea, great! As we were waiting there were a number of flies buzzing around, not good for an eating establishment or a place selling food! Our order arrived and straight away I wasn't impressed with my plate of food, the sandwich. I looked across and the breakfast wasn't as good as I'd expected it to be tbh but I didn't say anything.I had 3 cut sandwiches on my plate along with some crisps and salad garnish with balsamic dressing. Now 3 is an unusual number and I did try to get my head around it but didn't quite ? However, I was perplexed as to why the top of one slice of bread had a 'pinkish hue' then it occurred to me what it was. If you're making a quick sandwich at home, for example, and you use 1 breadboard for buttering the bread and cutting tomatoes and peppers etc you're going to get 'cross over juices' from the fruit onto the bread, thereby making the bread a pinkish colour on 1 side! ? However when I picked up another sandwich, on the reverse was a cluster of small seeds - pepper seeds. The salad garnish had quite a bit of diced pepper in the lettuce leaf, which is fine but I can't eat peppers. I don't make an issue of it and if at any time I find them on my plate, I simply leave them to one side, but I've never encountered the seeds before as they're usually removed along with the core because they aren't very pleasant to eat being quite bitter. So you can understand how surprised I was to find them squashed onto my sandwich, thankfully I saw them before eating them!Throughout the meal we were pestered with those flies forever buzzing around our table and food, very off putting whilst eating. The advertised Yorkshire tea certainly wasn't what was in my teapot unfortunately and the accompanying hot water that came with our teapots came in a jug, a jug without a lid so it quickly went cold-er, sadly. As for the anticipated breakfast; there was 3 rashers of bacon but it had a 'layer of white' covering it, like the bacon one can buy from supermarkets that contains water and isn't dry cure. The fried egg was pale and hard and the baked beans lacked flavour. Unfortunately the sausage wasn't the same as those we purchased in the shop which are very nice ?On our way out we bought 2 fruit scones in the shop as the waitress had asked us to. At home later that evening when having a cup of Yorkshire tea it was time to have scone too. How terribly disappointing it was , it was dry and stale when I opened the bag and cut it in half. That really was such a huge disappointment!Parking: Nice parking overlooking open fields.

Stopped on the off chance and good reviews for some lunch but food was very disappointing for the cost. Had a beef roll that came with 2 roasties, salad and coleslaw and a homemade chicken and mushroom pie that came with roasties, carrots, leeks and ratatouille. The pie was the worst bit. The pastry was completely soggy and filling tasteless and mushy. Genuinely worst piece of pie I've had! The ratatouille tasted like a tin of tomatoes poured on some courgettes that were cooked to death. The beef in the sandwich was tender but the roasties were anaemic and tasteless (needed a lot of salt). No crispy outside just soft potatoes. We shared a caramel shortbread after thinking the cakes looked good and were maybe why the reviews were good. It was fine but nothing to get excited over particularly for £3.80 for a modest size piece. Bottle of diet coke £3.45?!? We feel robbed and despite service being great and people lovely we didn't leave a tip because I already felt robbed. Sorry but like a really bad school dinner.
