Since changing hands and being completely redecorated it's absolutely gorgeous. Loveliest staff, inside and toilets are decorated beautifully. Outside is so gorgeous to sit out in now on a hot day and a great size. The outdoor pizza oven is such a brilliant idea and they are starting to have more music acts on and music quizzes which are great fun.

Fantastic pub & great new landlords!
Visited pub with our dogs several times during our stay in Kirkbymoorside. We were made to feel very welcome by the landlords. Great newly refurbished large beergarden ideal for our dogs, also refurbished inside to a high standard. Shame we dont live local as this would become our favourite local. No reviews/stars given for food as not doing any as yet. Wishing the new owners all the very best for the future, they deserve to do well!

Really nice pub, recently refurbished. Friendly barman/landlord (Steve) who was happy to chat and provided complimentary nuts/crisps. Very nicely decorated and a lovely courtyard beer garden at the back with gravel and decking. Theakstons beer was really nice too. Really pleasant couple of hours overall.

Christ what a dump. Dingy. Nice if you?re into sky sports. Thought we would try an alternative to the George and dragon and tempted by the beer garden (very nice and with great potential in summer) so tried a pint of bitter. Now I see why everyone was drinking lager. In Yorkshire ffs! One swallow to see how nice it was. Another to see it was really as bad as the first. No 3rd swig. Vinegar. Clueless cellar management. Taste what you?re serving. Wouldn?t put it on chips. The rest went down a convenient geranium pot. Hope it survives. Vile. Not into confrontation so just left and went to the George and dragon for a delicious pint or 2 of theakston?s best. Avoiding the black swan where someone with TB was coughing his guts up in the smoking area. Avoid both would be my shout.

With its beamed ceilings and small L-shaped bar the White Swan has a nice, cosy feel to it and on a quiet evening, when both pubs were almost empty, we much preferred the White Swan to the Black Swan across the road. We enjoyed pleasant service and ditto re the beers. PS - we also had a pint in the George and Dragon, but as that is a bit of a ?foodie? pub, I don?t really count it in such comparisons.

Lovely little pub, really friendly. Dave landlord was so nice to talk to, along with the locals. Husband said guiness was very good, he should know!! I tried the Aspell cider which was lovely!!
