Booked a table for the following day and they asked for my number. Turned up the next day to be told the kitchen was closed and no food being served. No attempt to contact us, barmaid not very friendly or apologetic. Awful service. Didn?t look very clean either.

Great place to eat and drink. I took my dog and my 3 year old while we were on holiday. Very welcoming, very clean. Great service. Great food.Great prices. Easy to find as it?s on the main road in the village. Would highly recommend.

Walked in and waited at the bar for 5mins. Despite there being nobody else waiting, and not being busy, the staff ignored us and kept disappearing before we eventually walked out having not even been spoken to. Very disappointing.

Fantastic place to stay hospitality of owners and customers very friendly rooms have everything required bed comfortable shower excellent..breakfast and dinner all freshly cooked and great choice would definitely stay again and highly recommend anyone to book a stay or even just pop in and have a meal also very dog friendly

Spotlessly clean. Had all I needed for my stay before heading up the hills the next morning. Would like to go back and enjoy the pub, seemed a real locals pub, which I love.

Had a lovely lunch here today. The weather was appalling so decided to treat ourselves to a pub lunch. After looking at reviews for pubs in the area we settled on The Craven Heifer and I?m so pleased we did. A lovely warm welcome from the owner who offered us a couple of seating options to accommodate me and my wife, two children and a dog. My son and I went for the steak and ale pie which was amazing! I?m very picky with my meat and don?t like fatty bits but I didn?t need to worry. Beautiful, tender meat in a rich gravy and with the best chips I?ve ever had in a pub. Apparently the landlady does them herself by hand and is particularly proud of them and rightly so. They were fabulous. My wife had scampi which she really enjoyed and my younger, fussy son had the chicken nuggets. He finished the lot which says speaks volumes to how good they were.
A big thank you to The Craven Heifer for making a wet and windy day much brighter. We won?t hesitate to call again when we are in the area.

Popped in today for a pub lunch and couldn?t fault it. The food was more reasonably priced than other pubs we?d seen and was great! All seemed to be made in house and cooked fresh and was very tasty indeed - highly recommend the heifer burger with homemade onion rings and hand cut chips - yum!
Bonnie the dog was a lovely friendly addition too.

Absolutely fantastic! The staff were lovely and friendly, the room was immaculate and the shower was powerful - perfect for after a hike!
