If the menu has a specific type of curry, make sure the chef knows how to cook it. A Panang is meant to be a thick, sweet curry, with a slightly salty, yet creamy nutty flavour from the peanuts. It is meant to have a mild to moderate heat from the blend of spices, not a watery overly spiced dish that reqired copious yoghurt to make it palatable. A disappointment to say the least.

Great staff, friendly and sociable atmosphere plus fantastic choice on the menu. Superb quality of food and service. The locals like this place and recommend the home made steak pie ( which means they sometimes sell out ). Booking is advised in holiday season and weekends. I'm heading back tonight so hopefully some steak pie left..... !

Excellent Stay overnight- lovely friendly staff and very helpful Excellent food and service. Our room was lovely great decor and very comfy bed/ very clean and useful extras like extra milk etc available in your room if required and a fantastic Tasty Yorkshire breakfast ? slight road traffic noise but obviously can't be helped as next to a main road but all in all Excellent Stay very well recommended ?

Good wholesome pub grub in a relaxed atmosphere. May need to book on a Tuesday as it is their quizz night.

Had a loverly Sunday roast here. Made to feel welcome as soon as we entered. Would definitely recommend. Also very dog friendly which is a bonus for us. Will visit again when staying in the area.

We booked a table for tuesday night, and were not disappointed at all. The staff are wonderful very helpful and friendly, the menu has a delightful range of dishes from starters to mains to desserts. My husband had the haggis bon bons which he enjoyed, we both had homemade fish pie a joy to eat, followed by lemon tart and a homemade chocolate brownie yummy. Needless to say we couldnt move after that, so we stayed for the quiz, good friendly fun even though we came last and won the wooden spoon a great night was had. The drinks were good aswell good choice.

Lovely pub, great customer service, staff are very friendly! They do a MASSIVE roast that you can share for 2 people. Reasonably priced drinks, good amount of space indoors and outdoor seating available.
